In a cool morning, we were waiting for the first beam of sunrise arround 5:55am.

Ali Shan Mountain Ranges ( 阿里山 ) is located in the central part of Taiwan.

It is famous for its sunrise scenery, also the elegance of flying waterfalls in deep valleys.

The highest peak is 2663 meters above sea level. The mountain is well known to the whole world for its four beautiful scenes of mystical trees, oriental cherry, a sea of clouds and sunrise, thus goes the saying; "Those who haven't been to Alishan can not know the beauty of Taiwan."

When I was at this spot at Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya, I thought that the foreground was rather dark, so I took a pair of photos of this scene - one was a normal shot (shown here) and the other, an HDR shot. Although the HDR capture has the "halo-effect" around the towers and trees, it appears more detailed and cheerful. What do you think?

PS: When the Burmese attacked Ayutthaya in the past (1765-67) they beheaded all these Buddha statues. A few have since been restored.

The Shire Flickr Group at Kurnell - 7 March 2009. Michael, Justin, Jason, Alison, Tony, Alex and I met.

I've been playing around with Photomatix. Tone mapped from a single RAW file - OK result but I'd rather get the end result in camera than in HDR.

I was invited to a wedding when I saw the car that brought the groom to the church ... a beautiful classic Rolls Royce parked infront of the church. I placed the setting sun behind it , and shot 3 bracketed frames to try a handheld HDR.

Took a little nature hike the other day, with my bud Scotty, to work on his film shooting and some of my long exposure hdr techniques, before all the beauteous colors disappeared. We got there when it was raining, but ventured out anyways and wound up catching a break with the sun poking out just enough to light things up.

This is a 3 exposure (-2,0,+2) HDR capture started off with a 2 second shutter and cranked up to f/22.

Konjunktion von Venus, Mond und Saturn. Die Mondsichel habe ich als HDR aufgenommen // Conjunction between venus, moon and saturn. The crescent moon is an HDR capture.

One of my first HDR. Captured last year on top of the famous swiss mountain Rigi.

HDR Captured:

Griffith Park Observatory

Los Angeles California USA. Took this shot while hiking up the observatory...the HDR effect gave it a more dramatic look, and made the night sky pop🌌

Auckland (Tāmaki Makaurau)

I visited stunning New Zealand for a whirlwind work trip, whilst I did not have a lot of free time I managed to get an hour to head off and do a few touristy things. As I was in Auckland I visited the Sky Tower to take some panoramic images of the city and its surrounds. The Sky Tower is one of the iconic buildings on the Auckland skyline and is a 328m high structure.

From the tower, I got a panoramic view of the Waitematā Harbour and Auckland captured through the windows of the Sky Deck (L60). There is some glare and color fringing as I just shot this with my iPhone and didn't have much on me to address this. The image was stitched and edited in Lightroom and Aurora HDR.

Captured on 10/05/2022 at sunset with an Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max back triple camera 5.1mm f/1.6 @ 5.1 mm, 1/35 sec at ƒ / 1.6, ISO 500

Iidabashi Station, Tokyo Metropolis, Japan

A late-afternoon scene at my favorite mini-inlet at the always

scenically splendid Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge in Stevensville, Montana charmed my eyes while there and in person. Hopefully, this late-afternoon HDR capture does it a

little bit of justice, or maybe a decent amount of justice at best.

This HDR shot was done in-camera and resulted in a capture that has an overall bluesy feeling as well a predominantly blue

cast, all of which resulted in my thinking of the song, "Blue Monday", by the late, great Antoine "Fats" Domino, rock and roll singer and piano player of the late 50's and early '60's. You have to have some age on you to remember that marvelous artist. ("Blueberry Hill", "I'm Walkin" and a whole host of others). I'm lucky that I do.
