I enjoyed a great evening of live music for the 2024 awards. Acts/musicians included: Paul-Ronney Angel (whom I'd seen in Urban Voodoo Machine but here as part of the house band Vive Le Rockers), Beki Bondage of Vice Squad, Eugene Butcher of Desperate Measures (our host), Gizz Butt, Kirk Brandon of Theatre of Hate / Spear of Destiny, Michael Gaffeny of Desperate Measures, Jim Jones, Saffron, Sham 69, Chris Spedding, Norway's Casino Steel, the Ruts DC, Charlie Harper of the UK Subs, Toyah Willcox among others

this has been across the street from where i work for a few weeks or so. i had to get a picture of it before someone cleans it off.
While watching Cornel West on The Colbert Report with my new room mate (pictured above) he started getting antsy and looking for a reason to leave.
At one point Stephen jokingly asks "So now that Obama is president, isn't racism destroyed?"
Cornel West's says, "Racism isn't gone, it just means that we've made some progress..."
At this point new room mate says, "OH MY GOD. A BLACK MAN COMPLAINING EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT. I CAN'T STAND THIS SHIT."
He get's up and leaves. On the way out he looks at the TV and mumbles, "I don't even know what this guy is saying anyway."
