Here's another one from my daytime photo folder. Not as dramatic as most of posts but I need to mix it up a little every once in a while.
I took this one on my way to Gooseneck State Park, Utah. I have passed this spot 4 times and decided that I should make time for a revisit before some boy scout troop tips this thing over, Hehe. I had this amazing compulsion to want to climb up this thing and push it on over, so I can image what a group of drunk teens or some Ill managed boy scout troop could do once mob rules takes over. :)
Luckily there were some nice clouds drifting around this time. The last three times by here, the dreaded blank skies made for some uninteresting scenery.
Located between Monument Valley and the city of Bluff, in San Juan County Utah, The name "Mexican Hat" comes from this curiously sombrero-shaped, 60-foot wide by 12-foot thick, rock outcropping on the northeast edge of town. The "Hat"' has two rock climbing routes ascending to it's top.

Mexican Hat (Ratibida columnifera), is so-named because it is supposedly reminiscent of sombreros in Mexican festivals. It's also called Prairie Coneflower in some guidebooks.
This member of the aster family is a native species found along the Eastern base of the Rocky Mountains, and south to Mexico. This photo was taken at water's edge of Berkeley Lake, a small lake at the northern edge of Denver, Colorado.

Henley Royal Regatta was first held in 1839. It is one of those very British Summer events like Royal Ascot where it is the place to be seen and extravagant hats are everywhere.
More on the history of the event can be found here www.hrr.co.uk/history This year's Regatta is 4-8 July but I shall be watching Wimbledon - without a hat!

This is a photograph that I had posted in the summer, it’s one of many that were lost from Flickr when I transferred files from Lightroom, luckily I had copies of some of them. Please be careful if you upload direct from Lightroom because if you move or transfer the folder they may be lost!
A collection of hats in Penang's Armenian Street which caters to tourists with souvenirs and street art.
Locals don't tend to wear hats unless they work in the sun. Everyone else just sticks to the shade.
