Mexican Hat (Ratibida columnifera), is so-named because it is supposedly reminiscent of sombreros in Mexican festivals. It's also called Prairie Coneflower in some guidebooks.
This member of the aster family is a native species found along the Eastern base of the Rocky Mountains, and south to Mexico. This photo was taken at water's edge of Berkeley Lake, a small lake at the northern edge of Denver, Colorado.

This was one of my goals. To find and shoot a nice male in breeding plumage. He was the third goal of an epic day at Delaware State Forest, Pike County PA.
Like most of Galapagos, Sombrero Chino (Chinese Hat) is volcanic in origin. The exploration path starts with a gorgeous beach, bright red Sally Lightfoot crabs and marine iguanas. The path goes past a colony of endemic Galapagos sea lions before passing a lava field: look for the lava cactus growing in the cracks. On the beach, keep your eyes open for the American Oystercatcher, a wading bird with a distinctive orange beak. On the trail, you may see lava lizards.
When you spend a couple days in Mexican Hat (a great very small town about 20 minutes north of Monument Valley), you have to get some captures of the formation known as Mexican Hat. Liked this one with the CPL filter with the pretty blue sky and clouds. Also had the chance to get some take with showers and sand blowing as well.
Psilocybe bohemica (Agiromycetes). Size of hat 9 mm. Size of whole mushroom 3 cm. For me this hat is an inspiration of Haute Couture, the new hat for winter 2021-22. It reminds us of the fragility and beauty of nature. I expect many people would love to have such an inspiring hat. Before wearing the hat, you have to remove the stalk at the inside.
A few more interior shots of the shops that Catherine and Lee wanted to visit while in Hudson, NY. In this case, Catherine actually follows the shop owner and artist on Instagram, and who actually makes the hats and many garments sold in her shop. Getting to meet and talk with her myself I can see why Catherine enjoys following this lovely young woman originally from Bosnia. Of course, it did not stop me from grabbing a few shots while inside the shop as the three chatted with each other. And those reversed letters on the store window is the shop's name, and read the correct way it's Behida Dolic.

Mountains were bordering the beach and this one had a peculiar shape. Like a conic hat.
The scale of the scene is immense and difficult to evaluate by the simple image.
