Nestled along a quiet street in Kanazawa, this elegant ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) is a stunning blend of heritage architecture and refined hospitality. The warm glow of shoji-screened windows contrasts with the modern high-rises in the background, showcasing how Japan harmonizes its past and present.
The building’s yellow-ochre plaster walls and dark wooden accents reflect a style that dates back to the Edo period, designed for both aesthetics and durability. The wide, overhanging eaves with kawara (ceramic roof tiles) help protect the structure from the region’s heavy snowfall, a feature commonly seen in Kanazawa’s historic buildings.
The large pine tree near the entrance adds a sense of serenity, embodying the Japanese philosophy of integrating nature into architecture. Beneath it, a softly illuminated wooden sign welcomes guests, setting the tone for the inn’s peaceful ambiance. The stone pathway and carefully placed garden elements reinforce the ryokan’s commitment to traditional design principles.
Ryokan like this have long been havens of hospitality, offering guests a kaiseki dining experience, tatami-matted rooms, and onsen (hot spring) baths. Walking past this illuminated retreat at night, one can’t help but feel drawn to its quiet elegance—a stark yet harmonious contrast to the bustling modern city just a few steps away.
In the heart of nature, the cascade pours its soul, weaving tales of time and persistence. Every drop becomes part of an orchestra, harmonizing with the rocks and foliage. It is a dance of elements, a song of serenity, reminding us of the beauty in life's relentless flow.

History
The first lighthouse in Ploumanac'h dates from 1860 . Destroyed by German troops on August 4, 1944 , it was replaced by the current lighthouse in 1946 (first ignition in October 1948 ). At night, it can be identified by its red occultation light with a white sector. This last color being visible only between Tomé Island and Rouzic Island. The current version was built by Martin et frère (local construction company of the time) according to the plans of architects Henry Auffret and Hardion. The latter had to work together with the Beaux Arts to build the pink granite tower of La Clarté, so that it harmonized with the surrounding setting, classified and protected shortly before the war. The interior mosaics are the work of the artist Odorico.
From the lighthouse, you have a direct view of the castle of Costaérès , Renote Island and the Sept-Îles archipelago .

The structure is composed of pink granite, and marks the entrance to the channel leading to the port of Ploumanac'h.
Laos has remained virtually unchanged for half a century. Rich in history and culture, Laos and its peoples, more than 47 ethnic groups, harmonize life to ancient rhythms and traditions that evoke timeless Asia. Although the trappings of the modern world are becoming increasingly visible, Laos remains the least developed country in Southeast Asia. A country where experienced travelers will appreciate breathtaking scenery and of course the friendly people.
It took us about 6 ½ hours for the approximately 230 km bus trip from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang. The scenery was very good, Limestone mountains jutting sharply above the flat river valleys. The scenery got even better the further north we went, rolling high hills and scattered farms and villages. This snapshot was taken from our bus window on our way to the capitol of north central Laos. Spectacular clouds due to raining season in the north of Laos seen from our window seats. I wish I could go out of the bus to take some better photo's, but a window shot was all I got.
Laos is een prachtig land met ongerepte natuur, exotische dieren en vriendelijke mensen. Het land is een arm land, met nog onbedorven wildernis en een bevolking van 5,5 miljoen mensen. In Laos zijn zo'n twintig natuurgebieden die door de overheid zijn aangewezen als National Protected Area. Door deze bescherming wordt het unieke landschap en de flora en fauna zoveel mogelijk behouden De gebieden bestaan uit tropische regenwouden, kalkstenen rotsformaties, inheemse flora en fauna en andere wildlife. Zeker voor de avontuurlijke reiziger herbergt dit land een grote hoeveelheid aan onontdekte natuurschatten, vriendelijke mensen en een gevoel dat veel nog ' puur' is.

The cranes and heavy machinery on the horizone sort of balanced-out the sun on the left, guess it mirrors the state of the environment today the delicate balance of harmonizing urbanisation while preserving our fragile ecosystem.

I don’t know why, but this lens always produces diagonal light beams from the light sources, which, in this case, I felt beautifully harmonized with the bridge’s perspective.

La tavola di Filippino Lippi è cronologicamente legata al suo rientro a Firenze dopo gli affreschi della Cappella Carafa Santa Maria sopra Minerva a Roma. La composizione viene generalmente identificata con la tavola che il Vasari vide in San Francesco al Palco a Prato.
La scena si svolge all’esterno ove Gesù, inviato dall’Eterno (raffigurato in cielo entro disco dorato tra le nuvole con angioletti), appare alla Vergine inginocchiata. In alto, ai lati, viene raffigurata la scena di un’insolita Annunciazione con l’Angelo annunciante e Vergine annunciata separati dalla centrale rappresentazione divina. Si pensa che quest’ultima iconografia, certamente singolare, fosse stata espressamente richiesta dalla committenza, a cui potrebbe essere collegato il monastero dipinto sulla collina più alta.
I due personaggi in primo piano sono raffigurati in modo solenne e maestoso, con vasti panneggi dai toni variati e splendenti, che armonizzano bene con il cromatismo globale della profonda visione paesaggistica.
Di grande rilievo è la paesaggistica sullo sfondo, impostata sulla prospettiva aerea, oltre che a quella lineare, che fonde le cose più vicine all’orizzonte, dove si avvertono richiami alla pittura nordica, soprattutto quella fiamminga, anche se integrati da celebri testimonianze di altri pittori rinascimentali, come lo stesso padre Filippo ed il suo maestro, Sandro Botticelli.
Alla pala è abbinata una predella con una Pietà con il Cristo, sorretto da un angelo ed affiancato da quattro sei santi in un paesaggio continuo.

The scene takes place outside where Jesus, sent from the Eternal (depicted in heaven within a golden disk in the clouds with angels), appears to the kneeling Virgin. At the top, on the sides, the scene of an unusual Annunciation is depicted with the announcing Angel and the announced Virgin separated from the central divine representation. It is believed that this last, certainly singular, iconography was expressly requested by the client, to whom the monastery painted on the highest hill could be connected.
The two characters in the foreground are depicted in a solemn and majestic way, with vast draperies with varied and shining tones, which harmonize well with the overall chromaticism of the profound landscape vision.
Of great importance is the landscape in the background, set on the aerial perspective, as well as the linear one, which merges the things closest to the horizon, where references to Nordic painting are felt, especially the Flemish one, even if integrated by famous testimonies of others Renaissance painters, like Father Filippo himself and his teacher, Sandro Botticelli.
The altarpiece is paired with a predella with a Pietà with Christ, supported by an angel and flanked by four six saints in a continuous landscape.

Two eyes in Tibet denote the masculine and feminine principles in the world and the harmony between them. This is also the concept of Yin Yang in Feng Shui.
Many call it the "bead of LOVE". It is believed that the bead attracts love and partners, builds relationships. This is only partly true. First of all, the bead harmonizes the internal balance of male and female, then the surrounding space reacts accordingly. Thanks to inner harmony, existing relationships are normalized and what was previously empty is filled. Updates in life will not keep you waiting if you wear a 2-eyed Pure bead all the time.
Black round beads - Shungite, I want to write a little more about this stone:
Karelian SHUNGITE is a Precambrian rock, which in composition and properties is intermediate between Diamond and Graphite. It got its name from the village "Shunga" in Karelia, where it is still mined. Later, Zazhogino and other deposits were also discovered.
Since ancient times, even before scientists and chemists became interested in this stone, Shungite was used in Russia for filtering and structuring water. (in ancient times it was called the Aspid stone or Paragon).
Now it is also used in medicine, in particular in pharmacology - a whole range of gastric absorbents, ointments, and masks are produced on the basis of Shungite.
Scientists have recently discovered the ability of Karelian Shungite to neutralize the radiation of electronic signals and monitors.
In the scientific community, opinions previously differed about the harm caused to people by "radio wave sickness" and about the degree of danger to humans from household electrical appliances. Most research scientists note the negative effect from the use of objects that exceed the norm of the electromagnetic flux.

The Door of the Conception (1895–1927), (Puerta de la Concepción) opens onto the Court of the Oranges (Patio de los Naranjos) and is kept closed except on festival days. It was designed by Demetrio de los Rios and finished by Adolfo Fernandez Casanova in 1895. It was built in the Gothic style to harmonize with the rest of the building.
The moment of miracle where my position, the angle of the sun, tree and people, all harmonized. In photography, such a moment of truth happens occasionally. I shut the shutter to shoot that moment. Thanks for a coincidence. I am satisfied. And I prayed for the happiness of men and women.

Active Assignment Weekly: Expore-ability
Your assignment this week is to take a photograph that captures at least 3 of these criteria:
1) Very captivating thumbnail (without having to see all the details of the picture at a larger size)
2) Eye candy (high desirability and attraction – caters to one’s emotions and senses)
3) Amazing light
4) Color harmonization and contrast
5) Novelty subject (something unusual, cute, extraordinary, artistic, humorous, etc.)
Restriction: Limited Post Processing
WIT: No idea how to get into Explore, but I tried to meet 3 of the 5. To me, this photo has good light (not amazing), looks fairly okay in the thumbnail, may cater to the senses with seemingly harmonized color. So, in the end, I've posted a somewhat maybe explore-able photo, and I'm sure of that.
