" This cave is a simple lava tube, almost straight in
plan and with a flat lava floor and circular arched roof.
Caving involves scrambling over a number of large roof
blocks. In places the original lava floor and
benches are visible. The main features are the
ferns and mosses at the entrance and the large
circular chamber at the far end with a complete
domed lava floor."

This is a much more conventional landscape shot as the river in shade winds back into the brighter hills in the background. With this Harman Red film it is important to overexpose (by normal standards) from 2-4 stops. This is a film that demands concentration and imagination. Remember that through the viewfinder one only sees regular light and colours.

It seems to come round quicker and quicker every year, the Swanage Railways annual diesel gala. And 2025 was no exception for great traction operating over this wonderful heritage line and in fine weather conditions. Here 45108 approaches Dicker's Crossing on a service from Swanage to Norden. I've been coming to this area since about 2008, long before there was a public footpath here, and I don't think I've seen as many people here as I did on this day, so I decided to do this slight alternative away from the gallery collecting at the crossing, I was set the challenge by Wetbag "to get a bathtub in the shot", think I managed it.

While ostensibly this is a landscape photograph, the effects of the redscale film provides us with distinct shapes of colour ranging from dark brown to bright yellow. It now becomes something more abstract and a play of geometric forms within the frame.

The Hărman fortified church, with its powerful defensive walls, seven protruding fortified towers, and the far-reaching visible bell tower, is a jewel among the Transylvanian-Saxon fortified churches. Although the fortifications lost their defensive capacity as early as the 18th century, they continued to serve as places for secure storage and safekeeping. For this reason, they were repeatedly repaired and survived over centuries until the present day. The Hărman castle complex displays the typical characteristics of a fortified church. Aside from the powerful bell tower with its embrasures, which until 1794 was also equipped with a guard’s walkway, the church itself is unfortified. The complex’s ability to defend itself is based upon the formerly tripartite circular wall with fortified towers, a circumferential moat, and a strong fortified gate.
