Hares, I think but just possibly meant to be rabbits. Detail of the Victorian East window of St Mary's church, Martham, Norfolk. Glass by Hardman & Co of Birmingham.

Hare that has been wet felted in merino wool.

Forest of Bowland Lancashire I decided to put this one up as I tried most day's for 2 weeks to get a shot of one of these guys, this is the best!! they move just a little too fast.

The local Brown Hares have settled down somewhat after their mad moments in the previous month.

Hare @ Gallows Bridge

Hare Hill Hall is a country house and a garden in the parish of Over Alderley, Cheshire, England. The house and grounds are privately owned, and the separate nearby garden is in the care of the National Trust.

The National Trust wooded garden contains over 70 varieties of rhododendron, plus azaleas, hollies, and hostas. At its centre is a walled garden containing a pergola and wire sculptures. A permissive path leads from the garden to the ridge of Alderley Edge.

The garden was owned by Col. Charles Brocklehurst until his death in 1981. Col. Brocklehurst was advised by the plantsman, James Russell. The Georgian mansion was sold by the Trust in 1978 to help finance the running of the gardens. The owner of the garden was a great rhododendron enthusiast and steadily introduced them into the garden from 1960 onwards. The climate and soil has allowed them to flourish here. The Trust has replaced many of the common purple variety with more colourful and exotic varieties and has extended the season for visiting the garden by planting roses, lacecaps, euchryphia and hydrangeas, although the early interest is already sustained by snowdrops, daffodils, a huge clematis Montana, Skunk Cabbage and magnolia.

Close encounters of the Hare kind.

Walking back to my car, disappointed at not seeing any Hares tonight, only to find this little beauty skulking in the grass ten feet from me. The second shot was of it disappearing into the distance!

This Snowshoe Hare is still waiting for its pure white winter coat to arrive.

Not sure if this sequence is showing this pair mating or not. If it is it was very quick and quite rough. The female bucked him off quite violently (last two pictures).

We spotted this snowshoe hare on a gravel road in St. Louis County, Minnesota. It appeared to be licking or eating gravel.

This hare popped up out of nowhere and I was able to grab just the one shot before it was off at speed.

I was very happy to get this photo! I love the Hare, and I had never been able to get one on camera.

Mountain hare (lepus timidus) - November is the month the hares transition back into their white winter coats. Quite a variety of colours on the hill on 6 Noc

A three tiered white wedding cake decorated with white ribbon scroll work and violets and lilacs. This cake was yellow with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting.

This hare should be running away by now, not just staring at the odd animal with the box in front of its face.

It did remember it's survival instincts about 2 seconds after this shot.

A public art event has arrived in Winchester and is shared with Southampton. It takes place from 16 June to 25 August 2022. Following a trail can be quite a physical challenge carrying cameras in summer weather but the results appear in my album 'Hares of Hampshire'.
