1953 Remington Quiet Riter A Vintage Office Classic!
This gorgeous old banger from the 50s comes packed in a felt lined, hard charcoal gray leather carry case. The beauty is in virtually unused condition.
Designed to be used hard, The Remington Quiet Riter was the premier typewriter of it's day; designed for daily professional use. It's a super heavy duty portable machine; all metal and it weighs a ton.
This handsome devil has been in storage for a very long time and could use a bit of dusting and oiling and it's all ready to go.
I just love the silver gray body in combination with the dark green keys!
The Quiet Riter has a "Miracle Tab" feature, which allows the setting and clearing of tabs from the keyboard; a very unique feature for portable typewriters of it's time.
Gothic theme, always actual.Following the success of films, tv series and books, like The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Twilight and similar, we have just decided to dedicate a cover and a hard case for iphone to the bite of vampires...Dark, goth, unisex and modern.
Don't be afraid of the night !!!
I remember feeling harsh loneliness in Meade, Kansas, where I stayed one night. Fortunately, the town was ripe with photographic opportunities. When traveling alone, this feeling (at least for me) is a regular companion. It’s not always riding shotgun, but it’s at least in the backseat. Sometimes you lose it for a bit and pick it up at a Rest Area or suddenly it appears out of nowhere.
“His home was America, and his ways were the secret ways, the highways in hiding, the underground railways where directions are written in runes. He was the other man, the other face, the hardcase, the darkman, the Walkin Dude, and his rundown bootheels clocked along the perfumed ways of the summer night.”
Harsh loneliness isn’t like other kinds of loneliness. And while you can feel lonely in a city, surrounded by people, it’s not the same as loneliness on the prairie, in near-ghost towns with rows of abandoned stores and emptiness. I’m not saying it’s worse, but it’s different.
Here, you can’t pretend you’re not lonely. That “other face” is there and it’s looking and seeing. It walks with you, it hides with you, and even though you know it’s not you, it’s only not you like your shadow is not you. Just as it’s your shadow, this is your loneliness, indivisible from you. It waxes and wanes, but you know it’s there or will be there soon.
Get your mind off of this, it goes to no good places then. Loneliness doesn’t like being a companion, it would much rather be your driver. Slide over, let it take the wheel, just rest, it’s okay. You’re alone now, it’s okay, you’re not alone.
And towns like this can’t help you. For me, photographing these towns was a way to cope with it. But it didn’t remove this. Honestly, it seemed to come and go at its own will. Mornings were best (that is to say, it wasn’t there). It often joined me for lunch, but then faded a bit, lingered a few miles behind, a few blocks sometimes. But when the sun lowered some and the shadows lengthened, they grew together, shadows winding around and drawing it closer.
If you don’t find a place to belong by then, it’s got you and will follow you wherever you go, and even take the lead if you aren’t careful.
In camp towards evening, with nowhere else to be or go, no roads or towns left to explore, it’s at the most extreme. But by this point, you’ve grown used to it. You sit in front of your tent, on your car, before a fire, and talk together. You review the day, catch each other up on what you’ve seen, and what you’ve felt. Its never a true ally, but it’s never more of an ally then in camp.
By morning, it’s gone.

This 4-piece Compact Nesting Kit (Configuration #10) is great for thumpin’ rock or swingin’ jazz with it’s 10 up, 14 down, 20 kick, and 14 snare. With the addition of an Ultralight Hardware pack and Hardcase with wheels, it’s easy to get in and out of the gig in one rolling trip. 7x10, 10x14, 16x20, 4½x14; plied maple; satin wax.
The contents of this med kit were part of the "Adventure Bag" available through refugemedical.com. The original kit was contained within a cordura bag which can be seen here-> www.flickr.com/photos/dimachron/52107372915/in/datetaken/
Now while the original bag is a solid, made in the USA bag, it would have wound up getting covered in hair as our dog rides in the back seat of our truck. So enter the Condition 1 #801 hard case. The case is dust proof, shock proof and water tight (IP67) so dog hair won't be an issue.
So I've taken the wares of two American companies; Refuge Medical and Condition 1 to make a complete solution that fits our needs. If you are interested in the contents of the Adventure Kit or obtaining one for yourself please see the product link here -> www.refugemedical.com/products/new-improved-usa-made-adve...

This is the hard cover Specks case I am using for my Macbook Pro 2010 model. I pick this one over the soft touch because I feel like the soft touch 'rubberized' case attracts lint.
