Looks as if hardships are the norm for this guy.

And the "travellers advise" to Americans visiting London:

Hard. The British slang definition of hard is somebody who is ready to take on anyone or anything in a fight. Usually a self-inflicted state of mind after several pints of British ale, a hard man is someone to be avoided.

"Live to fight another day, boys. Live to fight another day." - Hardcase

After finishing a couple commissions today, I decided to make Hardcase. We all remember how he went out with a boom, and now we all see him in a brand new Lego form! I was able to capture the details at the back of his helmet and apply that to the new Lego helmet, which really completes the fig. Let me know what you think, and if you fave, comment too please!

Happy belated 4th of July! :P

Following the pattern of Rex and Fives, my new Hardcase custom also features the new Arealight helmet and my updated templates. I put made sure to follow the reference pictures I took and make the back of the helmet accurate, and it looks great on this new helmet.

So let me know what you guys think! I'd love to hear your feedback. If you fave, please leave a comment. I've got more figs on the way :)

Like the rest of the 501st Legion, Hardcase wore Phase II clone trooper armor with blue markings. His weapon of choice was a powerful, rapid-fire z-6 rotary blaster cannon.

Arbitrary as it is, I'd like to make a tribute.

It's kinda hard to believe that it's already been so long since the show ended, yet there are still people in the community making clone customs, whether they're based on the show or not. For me, this hobby started with wanting to make custom clones; there's nothing quite like decaling up your favorite trooper. It's inspiring to see that this show still impacts a lot of us, whether it's through the customs we make or the people we meet. I wouldn't know any of you guys if it weren't for this show, so I'm thankful to be who and where I am because of all this. These clones were iconic to the series for the numerous stories they were a part of, stories we all loved watching and rewatching.

I spent the three days leading up to Brickfair making these twelve figs. Hopefully, I'll be spending many more days making custom clones ~ Thanks to Tyler (CAC) for the amazing accessories I've decked these guys out with, and to Arealight for making these awesome helmets! I've already got more on the way, so as always, expect more, and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

-Andrew

Here's another commissioned Phase I clone, with a design I thought came out pretty well. I was instructed to incorporate the flame symbol from the Gampassa Squad and an Arcane circle, which became the theme of this trooper (as the title implies). In the Arcane circle, I placed the Republic, Senate, and Jedi symbols with Draconian writing along the armor saying things like "Droid Killer" and "Vode An". The green markings were inspired by Hardcase with a Mythosaur skull placed on the left shoulder.

Got an exciting announcement coming up soon, so as always, expect more, and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Something bothers me about this helmet... but nonetheless, the Lego helmet itself still surpasses the other helmets out there in accuracy. The decal wrap around the back of the helmet, similar to that of Hardcase's design. The legs have their "semi-wrap-around" design, as they don't completely wrap around the legs.

So let me know what you think! If you fave, please leave a comment as well. Thanks!

LEGO X-Pod Walker

I think I knew about www.flickr.com/photos/legoloverman Peter Reid before his LEGO Ideas set 21109 Exo-Suit came out. Either way, the Exo-Suit got me hooked on his work in the Classic Space genre. His book, "LEGO Space; Building the Future" is probably my favorite LEGO-related book. You can sit down and read it with your kids (it is a storybook, after all); or, you can just go page-by-page and devour its delightfully futuristic ships, robots, and interiors--all illustrated in LEGO.

One of my favorite ships of his is the LL-142 Interceptor, posted way back in 2007. It utilizes an X-Pod as a cockpit, and Pete even reveals its marvelous interior here: www.flickr.com/photos/legoloverman/2112234803/in/datetaken/

I was so inspired by this use of the X-Pod as a cockpit that I set about creating one of my own, and was determined to incorporate it into a mech. In this case, the cockpit is the control center and central 'armature' of a four-legged walker/tank. It had to have the right pilot, and after I had determined the white/orange color scheme, the CMF Series 9 'Mecha' seemed like a good candidate. A mech piloting a mech--why not?

Rather than a 'conventional' control system of levers, gauges, touch screens, etc.; I wanted this craft to be controlled similarly to the Umbaran star fighters depicted in Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. In one of the episodes, clone troopers Fives and Hardcase commandeer a couple of the ships, whose high-tech, touch sensitive cockpits respond to the slightest hand motions of the pilots. Here, the trans-orange Barraki eye serves as the hand and foot controls. Rather than sitting in a seat, the mecha pilot is physically attached and uplinked into the X-Pod Walker's systems.

Two machines become one.

Darkness on Umbara 🔥

My 501st post on Instagram! ☑️

All of these guys are of course made by AV Figures and are all actually from Andrew’s personal collection 👀

I also took a bit of creative liberty here by including P2 ARC Trooper Echo per Andrew’s request!

Oh yeah I’m still alive by the way.

Alright here’s the extremely short version:

Back in May, I held off of posting anything else here after the Mando S2 Ahsoka reveal because as a lifelong Clone Wars fan I felt obligated to celebrate this occasion!

Then…in the middle of June I suddenly got called to be a part of an amazing project out in CA for well over a month. I immediately dropped everything and got on a flight that same night. Aside from being able to maybe put out a LEGO news video or two if timing allows, MGF Customs has been on pause ⏸

Andrew and his AV Figures team have welcomed me into the AV house for much of this crazy trip. So, designing a few edits with his clones to celebrate their work a bit while I’m here is an absolute must!

It has been the craziest month of my entire life and I’m still not sure when I’ll be going back. Thank you guys for bearing with me 🕑

"Sir, as the team medic, when it comes to the health of the men, including you, I outrank everyone." - Kix, to Captain Rex

Following the making of Hardcase, I have now made Kix. To be honest, I'm not too fond of the helmet; I think this design looks a little strange on the Lego helmet and better on an Arealight helmet. Nonetheless, it came out nicely.

Let me know what you think! If you fave, please drop a comment, your opinion means a lot!

credit to squirrel man for the magpul emblem!

it's a bit rough I konw but if you use it for any reason it will be scaled down

IT IS STAR WARS WEEK!!!

unfortunately i couldn't post this yesterday (may the fourth). Seem's like i've been late at the posts all the time😂.

But anyways, here it is; took me 2 hours of work, cuz i the pc battery ran out, and it wasn't saved, so i spent another hour making it.

and by the way, Hardcase in there is my fav Clone Trooper.

Almost finished just need to tweak a few things.

Arealight Printed Helmets

Fineclonier (WIP) decals

Here is Arealight's new "Trooper" helmets with a good chunk of the recognizable 501st troops: Tup, Hardcase, Jesse, Kix, Dogma and of course a couple sacrificial generic troopers. Fineclonier has conjured up these decals and they are a great compliment to the printed pieces. I showcased these decals a while back with Arealight's printed open-faced Commander helmets came out. Hopefully they will be on his site for purchase soon.

Based on MinifigMaker's Candy Red Apple Wolffe from a couple years ago, I decided to make a Candy Cane Hardcase. The red and white color scheme resemble candy canes, hence the name :P

I'm out of town till just before New Years, so I won't be active on flickr at all till I get back. Happy Holidays, I hope you all have a good time with family and such ~

-Andrew

I didn't have much to post today, so I thought why not post a shot showcasing all my S4 figures so far! Rex belongs to MM, I made some accuracy changes to it.

Thanks to JpoStudios and 100 Customs for designing the decals!

Hey everyone!

After a slew of new releases, we thought we might slow things down a bit with a restock. As of this post, we will be restocking the FVS, HDCS, JES, and Bow Trooper helmets. We will also be releasing an alternate version of the Rex Trooper helmet without those weld marks!

We hope you enjoy another chance at getting these helmets.

Happy customizing!

-The Arealight Team

At the Paprihaven observatory, super-hero Hardcase spots Godzilla Force agent Margaret O'Brien. He decides to strike up a conversation and maybe impress her.

"Wow, there are all the moon phases. There's the Waxing Gibbous."

"A waxen gibbus!? They think the moon is made out of wax?? And what's a gibbus, anyway?"

"Oh! Um... it's just one of the moon phases. I mean, you're an astronaut or something like that, right?"

"No. Why would you think that? And what's all this about waxing and gibbuses??"

Hardcase suddenly regretted starting the conversation.

"I saw your armor... it looked spacey."

"Spacey!? I'm with the Godzilla Force! We fight Godzilla!"

"Oh... yeah, cool. Anyway, good to see you."

"Do you really think the moon is made of wax??"

"Nope."

We are glad to announce that our new printed helmets have come out now. There are five new prints for you this time, Helmet Hardcase, Dogma, Jesse, Boost and Wolffe. Compared with previous wave prints we did, it did a bit less pieces than before. But we never less effort to our printing. Anyway, we will keep doing interesting pieces for you.

Same figure, new templates ~ After this guy, we'll have Appo, and that'll have to conclude the 501st series for now; I've got two big projects that are finally coming to light soon, so stay tuned for that! School's out, so I can finish orders more quickly.

I'm hoping to get these projects done by the end of the month, but no guarantees; I hope you guys will like it since a lot of work went into it ~ So as always, expect more, and comments speak louder than faves!

Due to certain factors and the updates to my templates, I have put these figures up for sale. If you are interested, here are the prices:

Dogma- $23

Hardcase- $24

Fives- $27 (reserved)

Kix- $25 (Sold)

Jesse- $25

The prices for these clones are slightly raised because they use the Lego helmet, which is was not too easy to acquire back when these were made (got them for about $3.50 each).

Please note, if you're interested in Hardcase, there may be a slight delay; the helmet is damaged, and I'll have to make a new one if any of you want to buy this fig.

PayPal only please, I don't wish to trade for these figs. Any leftovers that are not purchased within a week will be posted on ebay.

Enlarge this photo. These are the minifigures I have made so far, there are more to come.

Thanks to JpoStudios for designing the decals on Jesse, Hardcase and Cody !

Tup: Hey Rex.

Rex: What?

Tup: We're like the Three Musketeers, right? :)

Rex: Ummm, No. -_-

Rex: Ugh. . .

Yeah, so my Brick Republic order came in today, and Rexy now has his pauldron and waist cape. :) All he's missing is his range finder.

I would rather not have CW haters on this photo. So please, if you are one don't comment...Or else your comments will be removed.

The front row of troopers are from the CW "deserter" episode. I was trying to decide on whether to make it a light blue or the regular blue. The Clone Wars episodes portray them to be lighter because the shadows and dark scenes. That is why you see two Hardcase in different colors. I decided to go with my standard blue to blend in with my other clones. What do you think?

During the Battle of Umbara, the 501st troopers not only had to deal with the technologically advanced Umbarans and endure their cruel Jedi general Pong Krell, but also the dangerous local plants and creatures, such as the tentacled vixus and the flying banshee.

My entry for the May the 4th 2023 contest on Eurobricks.

Jesse still needs the vents on his helmet but I really wanted to take this pic :P. Thanks to Jpo1997 for designing the decals ! On Rex and Hardcase at least >.>.

It's confirmed, I WILL be going to BrickFair AL. I will be showcasing my customs once again, along with a new moc. This one will be called "The Capital Of Umbara".

As you know, the Capital was never actually shown in the Umbara arc...therefore I will build it how I think it might have looked. I can't promise this, however I will try as hard as I can to get it done before BrickFair AL.
