Happy New Year to All...

Here's to making awesome photos in 2010 :)

I don't remember where I found this picture, it's too nice!!

Today I want to thank, first of all the people who bought in my shop and second to everyone who commented and do click on favorites. For me it is a great support.

Thanks for being part of my inspiration in 2014 and for more creativity in 2015.

Thank you, María.

Tomorrow the 9th we are celebrating my brother's birthday Jose Miguel Pantaleon. He is a great Naturalist Photographer, a wonderful friend and a lovely brother. As siblings we were always playing together while growing up. It is a bond that continues today as adults as we are travelling together and doing what we love with a passion: photographing nature in all of its extensions. While as most of you may know I am mostly a landscape photographer, he is captivated by mostly wildlife, especially birds.

Today a little break in my Landscape images to celebrate his birthday with this Woodpecker from my front yard!

Happy Birthday Tango! May God bless you Health and Happiness....

Happy new year!

preparing for 2015 *Happy New Year everyone!*

Happy New Year everyone! ^o^

I've been really ill since before christmas, and will be spending new years watching fireworks through my window and from the blanket nest I've built myself in my bed. A suitable end to a year that's been everything but kind to me. Here's to 2015 being a better one.

All the love to you beautiful people who follow me on here. x

HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone!

A very last minute photo, that I totally gave up on after spending time trying to make it look a little less uninspiring : ) This tiny camera photo-holder (macro shot) was one of the gifts my youngest daughter gave me for Christmas.

I want to wish my family and each and every one of my "local" friends, my long-time overseas friends, and my Flickr friends a very happy, healthy and safe New Year! It's hard to believe, isn't it, that 14 years have passed since all the fuss about the year 2000? Thank you all for your friendship and encouragement, and for letting me share my photos with you - SO much appreciated! I'm looking forward to another year of seeing where you have been and what beautiful things in nature you have discovered!

"You never see my tears, but that doesn't mean I don't cry. You never feel my pain, but that doesn't mean I don't hurt. You only see me smile, and that doesn't mean that I am happy"

A Happy New Year to all my Flickr friends.

And here I go again with the next challenge. 125 pictures in 2025.

It's been a bit wet lately and, yes, that's British understatement. This wasn't the worst of it, but I stood at my front door and took this little video. The wind had blown everyone's wheelie bins over. If it sounds like someone's emptying a bucket of water nearby, that's just the gutter overflowing and hurling water onto the window ledge below. Oh joy.

Happy New Year, everyone! :)))

P.S. It's raining, by the way...

Happy Birthday, Ms. Brown. You're old enough to be a ghost now ;)

Can I brag about my Mom, a little bit? This is one of my top 10 favorite photos she took. It is of a birthday cake she made for herself. I saw this photo for the first time this past summer.

Think about it, back in the day when you used film, you did not have a lot of shots to experiment, unless you were a photographer for a living. She took two photos of this cake. The other is very similar but has a tad bit more of the mixer and beaters. Now comes the bragging part. Not only did she bake this cake for her 29th birthday, she had four young kids to raise with a loving husband that worked nights. I’m so impressed at how she set up the scene, and the manual settings she used for the shot. The lighting in the kitchen was less than optimal, with this one window. Now look at the dress the doll is wearing with the cascade of roses. I just love this photo. There are more photos of just cakes, some with my Mom in them. I might post them throughout the year. I have a few others on Flickr. One from Easter shows a herd of sheep cakes on the kitchen table.

My Mom would have turned 85 this Sunday, April 3rd. She passed away at age 51. I had just turned 15 years old. She might have taught me to make cakes, but I did learn plenty of other recipes, from her and her mother, my Nana. Am I a cake person? Well no, I can’t remember last time I had a piece of cake. I do love cookies, and yes, my mother made her fair share of cookies too. I miss you Mom. Happy Birthday.

Happy Shoe Year 2015! As seen in front of the Rancho Market in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Happy Easter!

"On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning, while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them, "They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him." So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb. They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first; he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in. When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there, and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place. Then the other disciple also went in the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed. For they did not yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead."

A very Happy New Year to all my friends on Flikr. It’s been a difficult last 6 months but hopefully that’s now over and looking forward to a positive 2025. A last minute change to New Year saw me going to my local (it’s still a taxi ride away) a fabulous evening and a big thank you to all the Bar staff at the Barnt Green Inn who make me feel so welcome, and a big thank you to all those people who came over and chatted to me tonight, it’s a wonderful, safe place to be. As usual, I didn’t manage to get a full length one at the pub so took one when I got home. Too old to stay out late (and too tight to pay the inflated taxi fare after midnight) u left the youngsters to it. All that remains is to wish you all a very happy new year and hopefully 2025 brings you all you wish for. One New Year’s resolution (apart form living weight) is to try and meet some of you lovely people in the flesh. Your lovely comments on my posts is what keeps me going, so thank you so much. Love and big hugs. Helen 💖💋

That's all for this week my friend. I hope you like my white satin cami set and the happy smile it brings to my face. Bye-bye, be well and see you again soon.

Happy Easter, my Flickr friends!

CHEERS to a New Year! So very happy to say "ADIOS" to 2024 which was nothing short of a neverending obstacle course, with few rewards for playing. If I had balls, I would have received a swift kick to the nuts every few days in 2024. PISS OFF 2024. Happy (and blessed) to get a new start. This is the time when my sign geek pals put together their own composites in celebration of a new year. So here goes... the neon "2"s are from the Century Theatres sign in San Jose. The "O" is from Santa Clara's beautiful neon Firestone sign (DO NOT remove that sign, Santa Clara!). And the plastic "5" is from the Century 25 Theater sign in San Jose which bit the dust many moons ago. My photo is from 2009 so there you have it. Glad that I kept the picture, even though it was taken with a pocket film camera. Wishing everyone a most wonderful year!!! Let's all work toward the greater good of the planet and all life forms on it
