Like me, this Monarch is getting long in the tooth. But that didn’t stop either one of us from enjoying the Sunday morning sun at San Juan Capistrano, California.
I experimented with image stabilizer shooting from hands with 1/10 shutter time. I like this portarit very much.

This place was loud and gathering attention so I had to check it out. It's amazing how such a simple thing as an ice cream can bring so much happiness. As we get older we need more and more complex and expensive things to keep us happy

And as you grow up you learn that happiness is not that of great things.
It is not what you pursue at twenty, when, as gladiators, you fight the world to come out victorious ...
Happiness is not what one eagerly pursues believing that love is all or nothing, it is not that of strong emotions that make the "bang" and explode out with spectacular thunder ...
happiness is not that of skyscrapers to climb, of challenges to be overcome by continually putting oneself to the test.
Growing up you learn that happiness is made up of small but precious things ...
... and you learn that the scent of coffee in the morning is a small ritual of happiness, that the notes of a song are enough, the sensations of a book with colors that warm the heart, that the aromas of a kitchen are enough, the poetry of the painters of happiness, that the muzzle of your cat or dog is enough to feel a slight happiness.
And you learn that happiness is made up of emotions on tiptoe, of small explosions that quietly widen the heart, that the stars can move you and the sun make your eyes shine,
and you learn that a field of sunflowers can illuminate your face, that the scent of spring wakes you up from winter, and that sitting down to read in the shade of a tree relaxes and frees your thoughts.
And you learn that love is made up of delicate sensations, of small sparks in the stomach, of close even if distant presences, and you learn that time expands and that those 5 minutes are precious and long more than many hours, and you learn that just close your eyes, turn on your senses, bake in the kitchen, read a poem, write in a book or look at a photo to cancel time and distances and be with those you love.
And you learn that hearing a voice on the phone, receiving an unexpected message, are happy little moments.
And you learn to have small but precious dreams in your drawer and in your heart.
And you learn that holding a baby is a delightful happiness.
And you learn that the greatest gifts are the ones that speak of the people you love ...
And you learn that there is happiness even in that urge to write your thoughts on a piece of paper, that there is something bitterly happy even in melancholy.
And you learn that despite your defenses, despite your will or your destiny, in every seagull that flies there is a little-big in the heart.
