Goldfinch
Scientific name: Carduelis carduelis
The striking red crown, golden back, and bright yellow wings of the goldfinch make it one of our prettiest garden birds. It happily visits birdtables and feeders across the UK.
"Bedruthans Vastness"
Happily, I stayed on late on my last weekend away in Cornwall specifically to see this view. The vastitude of the Bedruthan coastline is breathtaking over and over again.
Although I missed the Thrift at its best I liked this point of view so I took this photograph using a long exposure technique in camera.

123 Pictures in 2023 #123 "Happily ever after"
This frog was lounging in the world of gnomes section of the Mercer Botanic Gardens in Houston, TX. It seems he used to be a prince and was turned into a frog by a wicked witch. But the prince was happy to be rid of his nasty mother, the queen, and so lived happily ever after... Or something like that :).
I captured this red-headed woodpecker jumping along a board. I later discovered that there were at least 3 nests in the area. Maybe this parent had something to celebrate?

It appears that Suffolk pigs enjoy a good wallow when the weather gets hot! Not a bad way to keep cool I guess!
Boxes and paper bags are highly prized by Pearl and Sundae, but Callie, being the elder, finds them unappealing.
Stella snuck into the tree room and started celebrating before the rest of us. 😂 she figured out which bag held her treats but only took out her new chew toy. She sat guilty next to her ill gotten gains happily wagging her tail! 🎄😄

Unlike the previous dog, this little cutie ran happily along even while on a leash. It was a joy to see him or her go and even create a little shadow.
