This occurred around 3:30 this afternoon at the intersection of Cobb Parkway (U.S. 41) and Akers Mill Road. I was driving on Cumberland Parkway, behind the mall, when a Cobb County Police car passed me like I was standing still. I made a left at Akers Mill and began the gentle rise up to Highway 41. In front of me I could see blue lights flashing at the top of the hill. Lots of blue lights blocking all but a single lane of this very wide road.
At the top of the rise I made a right into Barnes & Noble’s parking lot and made just a few exposures. There was an arrest in progress and at least half a dozen police cruisers on site. I heard the booming voice of one of the officers asking an occupant(s?) of a vehicle to exist the vehicle with their hands up. A tall woman did just that and was arrested. No added force was needed or used.

A few hundred protesters began walking at noon to complete the four miles from Bourbonnais to the Kankakee County Courthouse. While sitting on the front lawn, they listened to activists talk about their experiences and advice for standing up against what they perceived as injustice. They then returned to their starting point for a round trip walk of about eight miles.

This little snapshot is one of my very best. I probably found it at First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas, but I can't say for sure. What makes it so special is everybody's absorption in the game. The kids are totally in to make-believe, but "dad"
(uncles are usually good at this kind of thing too) also seems caught up in the action.
I'd make Dad drop his weapon now, if I were one of those two. He's still a tad dangerous as long as he has that pistol in his hand.
The snapshot short-circuits calculation. Chance and accident are crucial to many
(not all) great snapshots. Maybe it's a zen kind of thing.
i remember back in the 80's, was it, when Holiday Inn had that slogan "No Surprises." I guess that was okay for a motel chain, where bad surprises far out-number the good. I've always been willing to take my chances on a bad experience, hoping, and expecting, that if I risk a little, I'll someday, somehow, find the good.
I need a photo for Mr. Waterslide's Monthly Magazine, and this one is as good as any, and far better than most. Hope you like it.

Holi (Hindi: होली, Nepali: होली, Punjabi: ਹੋਲੀ Sindhi: هولي) is a religious spring festival celebrated by Hindus as a festival of colours.
It is primarily observed in India and Nepal. It is also observed by the minority Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan as well in countries with large Indic diaspora populations following Hinduism, such as Suriname, Malaysia, Guyana, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom, the United States, Mauritius, and Fiji.
Holi is also known as Phagwah (Assamese: ফাকুৱা), Festival of Colours, or Doḷajātra (Oriya: ଦୋଳଯାତ୍ରା) in Odisha, and as Dol Jatra (Bengali: দোলযাত্রা) or Basantotsav ("spring festival") (Bengali: বসন্তোৎসব) in West Bengal and Assam.
Holi is of particular significance in the Braj region, which includes locations traditionally connected to the Lord Krishna: Mathura, Vrindavan, Nandagaon, and Barsana, which become tourist destinations during the season of Holi.[1]
As per the Hindu calendar, Holi is celebrated on the Phalguna Purnima which comes in February or March in the Gregorian Calendar.
