Once the plaster jacket hardened, the fossil and sediment mass was flipped over. The underside of the fossil is now covered with a protective layer of newspapers. Sometimes a second layer of plaster is put on the fossil for transport; in this case, duct tape was used to secure this side of the fossil. Photo by Charles O'Connor.
