This coffee set is about 70 years old. In my family, only the birthday celebrant was allowed to eat and drink from this coffee set. Nowadays, my tomcat Timmy gets something tasty from this plate on his move-in day:

Off a Citroen van, currently used to sell coffee. I quite like the coarseness of the repaint, with the visible brush strokes and drips..
I will always call this knob in the Matanuska Valley 'Handle Mountain' because that's what my kids called it when they were little. Others, 'uniformed', call it Lion's Head.

The theme for Smile on Saturday is Handles. This is a Red Oak ice chest with brass handles. It was made into a coffee table.
