No longer the Handsome Pilot.
Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever, 1963 vs 1991 editions (with revisions). The 1963 edition is my own, bought for me in the late 60's when I was a toddler, and read to tatters. The 1991 edition belongs to my kids today. I was so familar with the older one that I immediately started noticing a few differences, and so have catalogued 10 of the more interesting differences here in this collection.
The Germans established dog training schools to train dogs for various activities. Some dogs became medical dogs while others were trained as guard or messenger dogs. Some were even trained to lay cable wire.

I actually have a pretty good basis in knowledge about dog-handlers in WWII and the Vietnam War, since I did a 4 MONTH project on them and drew and inked an entire 8 page comic-book about a WWII War-Dog, if anyones interested in seeing it Ill post a couple pics.
Lastly, Do you think I should do a 7-day Zeessi style series of 'Nam figs? Y/N

Dean & Shayla almost never happened. Being parents at the age of sixteen, Lana almost gave Wes up for adoption. After begging her mom to let her keep her child. Lana agreed to it "IF" Shayla went to Europe and lay low, she would allow Shayla to keep Wes. After finishing high school, (18) Shayla decided to pursue a career in modeling. After searching for the right agency, the only place she was able to find to watch her son was the gymnastics academy across the way from her agency, so Shayla enrolled Wes into the academy. Wes excelled at the sport and moved up the ranks quickly. Dean on the other hand had spent every free moment of his life searching for his one true love and their child. After enrolling into the Marines he was able to track them down. After two years of tracking he was able to pen point them in London. He soon took leave and went to see them in person. While in the audience at one of Shayla shows he walked up to her and kissed her. Shocked at first she soon was able to place the face and all her fond childhood memories. The attraction that she once felt came flooding back. They were soon married days later and neither party has looked back. Shayla and Wes followed Dean throughout his career in the Marines. Wes still at master at his craft put it to use and became a male cheerleader. He has settled into his sport. Being one of the 6 boys on two teams they are desired among the females on the two teams (Varsity & Junior Varsity). It wasn't until going into his second year Wes has met the girl of his dreams an incoming freshmen named Raquelle/Rocky. Now tention has sparked between the Capt. Sharpay & Rocky for Wes's affection. Sharpay wanting Wes, Wes wanting Rocky, Rocky not knowing what to do.

Ok. Last one from my files before the next UpDog event in a few weeks.
It's difficult, and I really mean it, to get the dog catching the frisbee in mid-air. But this is the only image I could get with the handler, in good composition, in the background too.
Of course, to keep the main subject as your point of interest the challenge was also to have the handler blown out-of-focus with the lens wide open. Looks 100 times better than some blur effect in PS.
I shot with the 400mm at f/5.6.

When you pick up your scorpion, grab it at the tip of the tail just beneath the stinger using your index finger and thumb.... or ask Eddie to do it! Best advice is - "don't handle a scorpion!"

Explosive Detection Dog and Handler sculpture at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra Australia. You can actually see an IED represented in the wall - under the dog - and to the soldiers right.
Produced by Ewen Coates in 2015, this sculpture commentates the service and experience of EDDs and their handlers from Australia’s participation in the conflict in Afghanistan.
Someone has placed purple poppy on the sculpture- near the dog. The purple poppy is a symbol of remembrance in the United Kingdom and Australia for animals that served during wartime.
