Bashir Ahmed (40) is a beneficiary of Handicap International living in Bashbaria of Sitakunda, Chittagong. 12 years ago he had an accident while working in the very first day at shipyard and some parts of his right leg got severely injured. The shipyard authority gave him some support for initial medical treatments but that couldn't fix the permanent disability in his right leg. He has 2 girls and one son. Girls are 12 and 5 years and his only son is 10 years old. His youngest girl is going to BRAC school. He works as a day laborer 2/3 days in a week. Due to problem in his leg he cannot do heavy works regularly and have to take rest. He also works as a middleman in the market and collects and sells vegetables from one to others.

I first started photographing graffiti in 1999, and in 2000 I setup a website to share my photos. Initially a mix of different subjects, but it soon became almost entirely of graffiti. I uploaded over 6000 photos to this site. Eventually Flickr came along a few years later and I started using that instead, and stopped updating the website. I shut it down completely a few years ago.
I occasionally get requests from people for photos of pieces by specific graffiti writers, and I thought it might be a good idea to upload them all to Flickr.
Most of these photos were taken on film, scanned, and saved at a small size, back in the day when people were still using 56k modems to connect to the internet and small filesizes were desirable. So apologies for the quality and size for some of these. Someday I'd like to get them all scanned in again at a higher resolution.
Like my photos? Buy me a coffee!

this Supreme Beverage Company (a beer delivery truck) decided to take over a handicap parking spot this morning... sadly this is not the first... delivery trucks do it all day long every day at this exact spot leaving elderly and handicapped individuals looking for a parking spot elsewhere

Give them a call at 256-434-1482 to let them know what you think of their blatant disregard for the rights of disabled persons.
Ford motor company donated this to Buffalo's Woodlawn Beach state park to help people with disabilities navigate the sand. This photo is public domain.
While we have quite a few couples visiting our back yard on a regular basis, this couple is my favorite. The male is handicapped with only one leg but his lady loves him still. He struggles a bit on windy days but he doesn't let himself be bullied by the others. I hope they keep coming around for a long time.
Why on earth would you build a handicapped parking space with a full curb on both sides? How would someone a) get out of the vehicle in a wheelchair? or b) get into a wheelchair from the car?

An unsuspecting family interrupts an unsuspecting photographer who neglects to change his settings, fumbles a bit, and gets a slight blur
Janny had a temporary handicap placard due to her leg injury, so we were all set to use it on our visit to The Counter and Valley Fair. In both places, though, we were able to find non-handicapped parking super close to the entrance.
I realized something at the mall in particular, though. It seems a bit odd to have handicap spaces really close to the entrance, when the entrances are typically far away from anything. The percentage of walking Janny would have saved if we were only able to find a spot at the farthest end of the parking lot would have been quite small when compared with the amount of walking we did around the mall.
