A handicapped woman with her three small children seeking alms on a 'modified' cycle. The makeshift 'roof' of the cycle ( actually a poster for a cement brand - Ramco ) reads ' As strong as family bonds'.
( I somehow don't feel comfortable shooting / posting pictures like this. Makes me feel as if I am exploiting the lady's situation. But thorns are as much a part of life as roses, and need to be portrayed . . at least sometimes )

This man is a frequent visitor at the beach. He is in a wheelchair at all times due to the loss of use of his legs. He keeps his upper body in great form as you can see. At this moment he is soaking up the rays and relaxing. Deerfield Beach is user friendly for the handicapped due to the wonderful sidewalks and parking facilities.
Face aux ravages causés par les mines antipersonnel, il est très vite apparu que les seuls actes médicaux ne suffisaient pas. Handicap International s'est donc engagée aux côtés des victimes et de leur communauté afin qu'elles retrouvent une vie aussi normale que possible.
L'association conduit également des actions de prévention et de mobilisation politique pour éviter que les paysans qui cultivent leur terre ou les enfants qui vont à l'école ne soient tués ou mutilés.
Action politique, soin, appareillage, assistance, sensibilisation et déminage sont ainsi devenus les piliers de notre action contre les mines.

Le récent Traité d'Oslo d'interdiction des BASM est entré en vigueur le 1er août 2010. Toutefois, la mobilisation doit continuer... De très nombreux Etats n'ont pas encore signé ce traité.

Also at the parking lot. I found it funny that there was only one or two parking spots for non-handicap people.
Matt 9:12 -- Symptoms include blurred vision, hard-headedness, cold heart of stone, and overall inability to stand, move, or breathe without assistance from an outside source.
I am a sick man.. So yes, Jesus is my crutch, my meds, and my chemotherapy... my warm blanket, my bandaid, and my vitamins... my Healer, my Physician and my preventative treatment. YES, Jesus is my all....
So stop trying to pull my "crutch" from under me. Thanks :-)

(The driver is parked partly on a handicapped space, partly on a not-a-parking space.)

You shouldn't cause this man is a very fine gentle man and it is most pleasant and refreshing to sit down and talk with him, soon you will feel that he doesn't have any hidden handicap at all and you forget his physical deformations by polio.
In the mean he passed away at the age of 42,
his name was Selvam .....
Madurai will miss him too.
