Sorry I haven't been around much lately. We celebrated our son's high school graduation last weekend. And our daughter graduates from college this weekend. Also moving her to a new apartment, so very busy!!! And I recently did a photo shoot at a flower and gift shop. I'm working on the portfolio for their website and advertising. Some shots are very utilitarian (display cases, etc.). Some are a little more artistic. I'll just share this one.
Another assignment--I'm photographing evidence from an explosion for a trial. Nothing pretty about those photos. Can't post them.
I'll catch up as soon as I can!
Worry dolls are small handcrafted dolls that originate from Guatemalan culture. They hold a special place in the tradition and symbolism of the Maya.
According to tradition, children (and adults) tell their worries or fears to the worry dolls before going to bed. The dolls are then placed under the pillow, and it is believed that they take the worries away or deal with the problems during the night.

Sorgenpüppchen sind kleine handgefertigte Puppen, die ihren Ursprung in der guatemaltekischen Kultur haben. Sie spielen eine besondere Rolle in der Tradition und Symbolik der Maya.
Nach der Tradition erzählen Kinder (und auch Erwachsene) ihre Sorgen oder Ängste den Sorgenpüppchen vor dem Schlafengehen. Die Püppchen werden dann unter das Kopfkissen gelegt, und es wird angenommen, dass sie während der Nacht die Sorgen „wegnehmen“ oder sich um die Probleme kümmern.

He arrived safely at Mummy Marian's house!
I told her the whole story and she was not angry.
She was even happy! The red bauble had a tear in it and she didn't want it anymore. And...she gave me a big kiss.
Only Oleg was grumpy again. I should have told him I was with Scout. I'm going to sleep now, because tomorrow is the big day. I hope I'll get a present.

The joy of creating things.
Crochet a Christmas wreath and attach flowers and butterflies with small decorations. Also crochet a small glass jar with a tea light inside. Everything decorated with small details.
I did this 8 years ago.
We had a Christmas market here in the building for charity: the Assistance Dog.
With 3 women we crocheted a lot and we raised a lot of money with the proceeds. But unfortunately we had had enough of crocheting for a while... ;-) But we had so much fun doing it and with love !!
And what a surprise, these handcrafted works are at Explore! December 23the 2024, position 119! I didn't expect it at all!

Deep pinks and silver combine to make this one of a kind beadwoven necklace. I used a large Swarovski crystal rivoli as the center of my fan pendant. Off the crystal are beadwoven arms that flare outward with the same pink color rondelles. Connecting each beadwoven rope section is a short chain of sterling silver. The clasp is a sterling silver hook and loop.
This beadwoven necklace measures approximately 22 inches(55.88cm).
