All year round, they serve Jewish foods that are usually associated with a particular holiday, e.g.: hamentashen, latkes, gefilte fish, etc.

It's not very often that Purim and Easter fall on the same weekend. (My egg is on the right.)

Lit the menorah and made Latkes from scratch, and had Hamentashen for dessert. Life is good!

In both:

Pita, snow peas, cucumbers, yellow pattypan squash, hummus held in slices of Torfurkey, and cheese (on the left side, also held in tofurkey). Grapes and blackberries, too, respectively.

I was using the tofurkey as a "cup" to hold the cheese and hummus. I was trying to roll it on itself to look like a round cup, but it insisted on flopping over in this triangular way. Looks kind of like a savory hamentashen, no?

Happy Purim

We made the Purim sweets for our Christmas dessert. Basically we like to celebrate everything. The one in front is filled with Nutella; the others are filled with mixed berry jam from our friends Meg and Brian.

Ready to be coook(i)ed!

Hamentashen!!!! Quite possibly the tastiest of Jewish cookies.

note the mondrian cup in the corner!

To celebrate Purim this year, Josh and I made what I call "Hammertime" cookies, but are actually "Hamentashen". What? "Hammertime" is more fun to say? I agree.

We used three different types of jam and then they exploded in the oven. We covered them with fresh berries and all was well..
