I finally got around to taking another weekly shot. I got home and had to shovel the drive a bit before I could park my car. The temperature plummeted today and the wind was blowing. I loved the light in front of the car with the blowing snow so I thought why not lay down and look like I was dead ;)
The cell phone I added after doing 10 or so shots (I am sure the neighbors think I am nuts) as it draw attention to the shadows in the foreground. I didn't totally like this composition, but it had the main compositional elements I wanted. The others I was too close to the car, too far away, laying at a funny angle, etc. This one seemed the best compromise. I cloned out the license plate on the car quickly with Lightroom.
Record Albums or vinyl, are a part of a bygone era. This was the way I listened to music as a kid. You put the record on the turntable, cranked up the stereo and listened to an album from start to finish. When one side was over, you flipped to the other and repeated the process. To randomly listen to tracks, you'd raise the needle and position it on the song you wanted. This was before CDs, cassettes and 8-track tapes. Our iTunes was the Columbia Record Club, but we couldn't buy single tracks. If we wanted those, we bought 45s from the record store, and even those had a "B" side.
For you kids, this is what USB turntables are for. Our collection has some music not available in MP3s. We hope to have it converted one day.

Went out with the boys after work, then shot this chicken wire in my garage just before midnight.
This is lit with a halogen work lamp a foot or so to the left of the chicken wire.

I have grown to love reflections (thanks to someone I know ;o) ) and peering into shop windows, especially when I'm hungry and there are muffins on display that look ready to end up on my plate.

When we had to run to the hardware store for more tapcons, Dad said we should look at some halogen lights since that lightbulb kept hitting us in the face. It was such a super idea- now you can actually see the whole laundry area. Plus halogen and laundry seem to go together in my mind anyways.

It was lit with a halogen bulb on camera right and an LED (giving the blue hue) on camera left. The stars were grains of salt on a black background. The light sources were moved during the exposure. I like the lighting better on this one.
