The Department of Physical Education hosted the 12th annual Lt. Gen. Harold “Hal” G. Moore Warrior Athlete of Excellence Award Nov. 9 in the Haig Room in Jefferson Hall.
This year’s recipients of the award were Class of 2024 Cadets Tanner Craig and Megan Nkamwa. Craig competes with the Army West Point wrestling team and Nkamwa participates with the Army West Point boxing team.
The award recognizes one male and one female first-class cadet each year. The recipients are extraordinary cadets who best exemplify the qualities of Lt. Gen. Moore and the tenets of the Warrior Ethos both on the athletic playing fields and in the DPE boxing and combatives programs.

Sitka feels like "real Alaska." No excursions for us this cruise. Instead we took a fun 5-minute tender ride into town in mid-afternoon. Where are the tourists??? This photo is taken looking north, I think. I'd finally found a pharmacy with Pepto Bismol!! We're about 3 blocks from the dock. I loved Sitka!!
Harold (Hal) Chaitman is a retired aerospace executive who spent a combined 42 years with aerospace giant, Lockheed Martin, and with jet engine manufacturer, Pratt & Whitney. He has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University.
