#OccupyLSX protesters gather at St. Paul's Cathedral - Day One, 15.10.2011

As part of the newly-emerging global "Occupy" movement which has seen a continuous occupation of Liberty Park near Wall Street in New York, and which today saw protests in approximately 950 cities worldwide against the corruption of both bankers and governments, around 4-5,000 activists - having been blocked by police from their original objective, Paternoster Square which leads to the London Stock Exchange - converged on the front steps of St. Paul's Cathedral in the City of London to begin an occupation which. it is hoped, will oblige the financiers and bankers to realise that there are real people being grievously punished for the unpunished crimes of the banking industry which have resulted in crashing world economies and swingeing 'austerity measures' which are only paid for by the poor and middle classes. In the meanwhile the entire country has been treated to the disgraceful sight of the very people who caused this unmitigated shitstorm of greed, dishonesty and arrogance having the audacity to reward themselves with millions of pounds in bonuses, despite almost bringing the world economy to its knees.

Throughout the day the completely peaceful protesters discussed their grievances and through a series of open Spanish-style 'congresses' or 'people's assemblies' formulated a series of propositions which form the basis of the mass protest.

During the afternoon the crowd was joined by Wikileaks founder Julian Assange who arrived wearing the obligatory Guy Fawkes mask made famous in the cult film "V for Vendetta", which is worn by members of hacktivist group Anonymous. Assange, wearing an electronic tag on his leg imposed by the British court as he is under house arrest awaiting deportation to Sweden - was accompanied by two police detectives, one of whom frequently made a point of holding Assange's shoulder, as if they thought for one second that one of the most identifiable faces in the world right now would ever be able to make a run for it, surrounded completely by a cordon of upwards of 3-400 police.

The only mindless, vindictive violence came from some members of the Territorial Support Group who were militaristic in their brutality towards completely passive citizens when they decided to rush the steps of the cathedral once darkness fell, during which assault they stamped on people's heads and bodies, punched and kicked several people and were seen to rip the hijab off one girl's head. All of this was to prove or gain nothing whatsoever strategically except the ability of the police to be - in my opinion as I watched it from very close quarters - criminally, dangerously violent to passive, peaceful protesters who no longer, it seems, are protected from violence by the agents of the State. When the police commit violence everyone - especially the police - knows it is very difficult to go after them to demand legal justice.

Several hours later the police abandoned the steps at the request of Cathedral officials, leaving everyone to wonder what was the primary motive of the senior officer who gave the order to lead this attack on private land when no crime had been committed. This was Abuse of Process in many people's opinion.

Anonymous is a loosely associated hacktivist group. It originated in 2003 on the imageboard 4chan, representing the concept of many online and offline community users simultaneously existing as an anarchic, digitized global brain. It is also generally considered to be a blanket term for members of certain Internet subcultures, a way to refer to the actions of people in an environment where their actual identities are not known. It strongly opposes Internet censorship and surveillance, and has hacked various government websites. It has also targeted major security corporations. It also opposes Scientology, government corruption and homophobia. Its members can be distinguished in public by the wearing of stylized Guy Fawkes masks.

This is a great addition to any bobblehead collection. If you're looking for a unique bobblehead, this is the one to own.

A great gift for any bobblehead fan or collector!

Also perfect as a party favor, guest amenity, event souvenir, reunion gift, and hospitality gift.

I would not have voted for Donald Trump.. although Hillary Clinton was only the lesser of 2 evils

What will happen with a climate denier in charge? Will religion become even more powerful again as seen in Islamist countries (like Turkey)? Will the corporations be completely free to do as they want? Will education go even further down the drain? Will Creationism completely replace Darwinism? Will he keep his word and make the rich richer and completely ignore the poor masses? Will he abolish all social & medical care? Will he allow free speech? Will the NSA and other organisations receive even more power? Will police violence, white male supremacy and rape-tolerating machismo become the new standard? Will his statue be taller than the Statue of Liberty? Who will pay for it? Will he organize sex parties for Putin in the Oval Office to prevent WW3? Will his great wall rival the one in China, or those of Hadrianus & Game of Thrones? Will there be a revolution? Or will he turn out to be more moderate than his speeches showcased and will he end up like Charlie Chaplin at the end of “The great dictator”?

O--bittersweet uncertain future.

Keith W. Downey, one of the (in)famous "PayPal 14" (Wikipedia) was visiting Hackerspace Hack42 for an interview by Dr. Vera K. Wilde (PhD PoliSci).

She interviewed Keith on his involvement in Operation Payback/Operation Avenge Assange, hacktivist collective Anonymous, whistleblower organisation WikiLeaks, and his interactions with the U.S. government prior and after his arrest.

I wrote an article on some UK bands for Australian printed mag Hysteria.

Also perfect as a party favor, guest amenity, event souvenir, reunion gift, and hospitality gift.

u bitch, i'm gonna kick ur ass.

It was fun as long as it lasted.

4-4-2013 group Anonymous hacked an official North Korean Flickr-account and placed 4 pictures on it. At the start of the evening (in the Netherlands) the pictures were deleted, so everything is back to normal and we can watch pictures of Kim Jung Un watching things again (without filthy imperialistic insults ;) ). www.flickr.com/photos/uriminzokkiri

UPDATE, the entire account is no longer active :(

I made some screenprints as a precaution to save my comment in the afternoon.

Here is a Dutch news page about the happening: www.nu.nl/internet/3389013/anonymous-hackt-noord-koreaans...

North Korea is usually referred to as the hermit kingdom because of the lack of openness. That's kind of true, but there is actually a lot information to read if you're really interested. Information comes from escaped North Koreans, political analysts, tourists, expats and even businessmen (yes there's some small business to do).

Here are a couple of websites

nknews.org My favorite, because it has more in depth stories.

nkeconwatch.com The most analytical site, monitors almost every physical move of the regime in Google earth.

38north.org/ Has a online analytical atlas.

And there's nkleadershipwatch.wordpress.com/

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Right now too many politicians & lawmakers in most of our decaying civilisation of over-consumption are only working for the benefit of themselves, their party, their maecenae, their ideological friends and their corporate sponsors, instead of working for the benefit of the people and the lands (nature, flora, fauna) they have sworn to protect. One way to make sure they do everything they can to do good, is to have them judged by all the people after their reign. Did they betray the people or the land then bannish them without access to their (foreign) bank-accounts. Have them ostracized ike the old Greeks did.

Creative Copyleft Nait #1

A cura di Fpml, Sub Terra, Imago Sound, Beba Do Samba

Ingresso dalle 19,00 per la presentazione del saggio “I Nemici della Rete” (BUR, 2010) di Alessandro Gilioli e Arturo Di Corinto. A seguire buffet, musica, reading, e molto altro.

Aperta.

That's kind of true, but there is actually a lot of information to read if you're really interested.

The first IconLocal, hosted in Honolulu, brought together designers, developers, civic hackers, activists and community service providers to assist the homeless and the people who help them. An IconLocal supports The Noun Project, a movement to develop simple, universal, public domain symbols and icons to inform and guide the public across a variety of issues. The event was organized by Hawaii Open Data, in partnership with the Institute for Human Services, the governor's Interagency Council for the Homeless, and the Hawaii Community Development Authority.
