GWT 630 is an Albion with Burlingham body new to South Yorkshire in 1947 seen at Otley during the Samuel Ledgard 50th Anniversary event.
Sun 15th Oct 2017.
Hiding on the lee side of the flower, as a storm was blowing up and the wind was pretty powerful.
I think this is Eristalis arbustorum, but am not certain as the face isn't visible.

Four views of the same group of plants at Magor Marsh. Having taken the shots I was struck by how different the plant, Cuckoo flower or Lady's Smock, looks depending on how you view it, and thus this set arose.
Here's a close up of the typical white flowers
Another view of this lovely plant, which takes its name from the shape of the flowers which are said to resemble insects.
A very small depth of field, handheld, on a moving target, on a windy day. Rather delighted with this. there were lots of these bees about, and all of them very small.
Jackie is just continuing to gwt more bold in the water. She wants to go to the pool or ride her bije all the time. She wants me to 'watch this' a lot. She jasnt been napping and it shows sometimes. She is cute as can be.

A sign inside the Magor Marsh education centre. Someone needs to go back to school.
Happy Wacky Weekend.
Finally got the chance to photograph one this year. Rogiet Poor Land, Gwent Wildlife Trust nature reserve.
The nursery web spiders are easy to find at the moment because the females are all guarding the nursery webs after which they are named, as this one was at Springdale farm reserve.

These ladybirds seemed a little confused about the right way to go about things.
Rogiet Poor Land reserve, Monmouthshire.
The annual pilgrimage to Margaret's Wood Gwent Wildlife Trust nature reserve for the finest show of wild daffodils in the county. A little bit early, so most were not in flower, but enough were. I much prefer the wild ones to the commercial ones.
GWT beats out Rails, Grails and Play continue to be popular. Tapestry and Wicket lagging. MyFaces (not pictured here) at the bottom with 94 messages on their users list.
One last pyramidal orchid. The camera engaged the flash because it was very shady where this was growing, but it hadn't gone ober quite as badly as the others. I rather liked the ffect.
Semi-parasitic on grasses, so a good indicator of a high-quality grassland in terms of botanical diversity, as it reduces the vigour of the grasses, allowing other grassland plants to flourish.
Seen at Brockwells Meadow, Gwent Wildlife Trust reserve.
This is a view of the new railway line laid to the East of the station taken from the new platform 4. Note a Security Noddy told me off for taking pictures and walking to the end of the platform
I have known Henllys bog for close to 19 years, but have never managed to find the sundew there. it seems that there is a single cluster of it, on the side of a tussock, in the wettest bit of the site. GWT staff member Richard Bakere found it for me, to my delight.
More from Dixton embankment reserve.
The sneezewort was very popular with the insects. Two mating soldier beetles (they do nothing else), a 14 spot ladybird, and a small solitary bee.
Meet Oscar, the water vole with the burrow closest to the car park at Magor Marsh Gwent Wildlife Trust nature reserve.
The staff there call him Oscar because he is not shy at all and will happily pose for pictures. There were about 20 people around at this point, all talking fairly loudly.
Golden Wheel 1:32 Scale 1940 Ford convertible, part of a Texaco promotion including four vehicles and a plastic filling station. The dicky seat opens on this.

GWT 630 is a Burlingham-bodied Albion Valkyrie CX13 which was new in December 1947 (66 years old), and with a top speed of 30mph. It has been preserved as South Yorkshire (Pontefract) 61, being owned and operated by GP Lawson trading as Yesteryear Coaches - I have a photo of this in York outside the former LNER offices (Cedar Court Hotel)
