Fried food...
chicken, cream cheese stuffed jalapeño peppers, and mozzarella. Yep, some of us Americans eat this fat soaked food regularly, but for others, it's a guilty pleasure.
Water hyacinth is an invasive species on Armand Bayou that, left unchecked, can form a mat so thick it depletes the oxygen in the water and completely disrupts the food chain. So to avoid any suggestion of promoting it, this is a portrait of a damselfly.

For the Macro Mondays challenge (March 28th 2016) "Guilty Pleasures"
and for Prompt Addicts - Guilty Pleasures
This passion started as a student, hunting through the 'junk shops' in the back streets of Leeds, Yorkshire. Sometimes it was for everyday things such as furniture or crockery for the flat (apartment). But my real treasures were the unusual and exotic things that caught my eye and my imagination. I've never stopped, though I no longer live in a city, so it isn't as easy!
This part tea-set was found in an Edinburgh Antiques Fair years ago. I still love it - especially when the sun shines through it, and I can see the hand-painted strokes added to the transfer print.
I've never found anything worth a lot - except to me! And the attic has several boxes of accumulated treasures that I refuse to part with ;o)
The size of the full cup is only about 7cm/3inches across - the establishing shot is in the first comment field

My bedsheets are ablaze
I've screamed his name
Building up like waves
Crashing over my grave
Without ever touching his skin
How can I be guilty as sin?

I love my Chuck Taylors ...and if they are glittery, even better!
Buying things I have no idea what they are for, just because they are made of glass and I can take weird macro pictures of them :)
(Another big one is eating chocolate but by looking at the pictures, I can see I´m not the only one ;) )

I recently bought some multi-coloured iridescent metal drinking straws, with the aim of using these posh straws as a colourful prop.
I do occasionally like drinking a can of fizzy pop, I do know it's a rather unhealthy drink.
Drinking using a straw makes the bubbles fizz effervescently into my mouth, making it a very enjoyable experience. 😉

Still at Westerbork. In the foreground you see a monument that consists of 102,000 stones, in remembrance of the people who were deported from Westerbork and were killed in Auschwitz/Birkenau and Sobibor. In the background a symbolic remainder (and reminder) of the buildings where they were imprisoned.
American Goldfinch trying to act all innocent and blend in after totally destroying one of the Sunflowers on my back patio.
For this weeks theme of guilty pleasures in Macro Mondays group.
I've always had a passion for shiny heels and it's definitely my guilty pleasure when I get another pair that I really don't need and certainly can't afford! 😊
I enjoy doing diamond painting occasionally. What I don't enjoy is the amount of time spent sitting therefore I feel guilty while at the same time enjoying it. This is a large canvas of dragonflies. Although a work in progress I did curl the canvas and shine a light inside the curl to brighten the colours. I quite liked how I have a narrow band of focus with fall off before and after.
This section is just over 2.5" so well within the size limit.
Pretty quiet on our local beach, this morning. My lovely wife woke me to say it might be nice. She captured the most wonderful sunrise, yesterday and then complained of sensor spots which I tried to clean and messed up her camera! We're now ordering a kit to try and clean it properly, fingers crossed.
PS after 5 swabs with the kit, my wife's friend managed to rescue the sensor! He then sold us a Canon 5D Mkii which is now my first full frame camera. Lots to learn.
I came outside & heard a Sparrow couple really tellin' it one morning & It didn't take long to discover what they were upset about. This guy had his head buried in the birdhouse. I tugged on his tail & as he backed out it was quite evident he was guilty. I think the shadow of his head & the feathers is as remarkable as the real thing. Things like this are sad, but hey..... snakes have to make a living too! It's all a part of Mother Natures amazingly complex world.
