Mr P. your at a slight advantage, as you've met me, all be it a long time later lol!

The challenge is "which one is me?"

It's an image taken in my first year at school, note the B&W, a slight give away to my age.

For the "Smile on Saturday" Group. "Guessing Game"

I will give the solution when the group closes this saturday

We all have a love affair with this landmark in the Bay Area - What's so fascinating about shooting it is that it never looks the same. The light changes, the fog rolls in, the fog rolls over, under. At times, you cannot even see the darn thing even if you're standing right on it. So - here it is, in all it's glory, totally visible, no fog, morning light - irresistible.

Explore #169

Now what are the guesses

Just a little teaser for you, as I know a few of my Flickr friends live in this part of England!! We took a little train trip today - can you see where we went?!

I'm still in the middle of my Chepstow photos, and I'm not ready to upload any more from today just at the moment, but they will be coming soon!!

Bloomington, IN was the center of USA population census in 1910

According to the Monroe County History Center, Bloomington (population estimated at 84,067 as of July 2016) is known as the "Gateway to Scenic Southern Indiana." The city was established in 1818 by a group of settlers from Kentucky, Tennessee, the Carolinas, and Virginia who were so impressed with "a haven of blooms" that they called it Bloomington. (Wikipedia)

Sunday afternoon at the Kunstmuseum. “It’s a madhouse,” sighs the lady at the ticket check. Compared to the cheerful crowd she has to check in, her grey-blue uniform looks tired. Young and old have dressed up fashionably for the exhibition about Dior.

Uniforms should express authority, but how neutral do they have to be? “High time to put a good, preferably younger fashion designer in charge,” says an inner voice. A museum that - after many shows of famous designers - has developed into an epicenter of haute couture should surely have more courage. How else do you express the bond with ‘fashion’? A word that unites such a myriad of meanings – from cut to shape, from mannerism to creation – that everyone can identify with it.

LEFT OR RIGHT

In any case, at the top of the central stairs, a choice has to be made. Right to the ‘New Look’ by Dior – left to the ‘Night Animals’ by Spilliaert and Braeckman. We go left because that's why we came. In the dim silence that falls on us like a downy blanket, we focus our eyes on the introductory text. And on the image of a man descending a staircase in the semi-darkness. To be precise, we only see half a man. His face is barely visible, and his clothing reveals nothing special. Could that be a harbinger of what awaits us? Certainly.

Stairs are powerful metaphors. Up, down: life has its peaks and valleys. Platinum-blonde Hollywood stars made a great show of descending a staircase. A practice that Marcel Duchamp slyly commented on with 'Nu descendant un escalier'. In this sensational painting from 1912, a character strides down like an avalanche of cubist fragments. Naked? Down the stairs? The audience was stunned, moved by laughter and anger.

Admittedly, there was movement in the image. Or rather, that was suggested very nicely. Or was it a pile of firewood that came crashing down? The cartoons in the newspaper did not mince their words. The term ‘anti-art’ was used. Isn’t Braeckman’s intensification of the unfathomable also just a provocation? Yes, there is something in that… some photos are so black that you can only guess what you see.

This time I have started a build and want you guys to guess what it is!

It's also likely very obvious once again. :P One of these days I'll one that's hard but fair...

Anyway, this is my first building project for a LONG time and I'm real excited. Expect many progress pics that you need not fave. :P

Thema für "Crazy Tuesday": Guess what it is,

I'll probably add some shading on her face but wanted to show the new (but probably classic who) doctor so far... I'm really pleased with how easy the hair was, after all.

Found this guy walking across the lawn, looking for some sunshine to go and warm up in... We have had a week of overcast, cold and windy weather...

Now guessed: The Brooklyn Children's Museum on Brooklyn Ave. in Crown Heights.

I have never seen a sign like this... any guesses? It is probably not quite gender equality-appropriate... but it is also probably very old...

I always thought this would have made a good Valentine's picture but I didn't know how to present it as one with Asha with her paws over the teddy's eyes in the lovers game, of a person creeping up behind their loved one and putting their hands over that person's eyes and saying "Guess Who" (naturally the person would know who it was putting their hands over their eyes and wouldn't be frightened). I just didn't know how say this in this picture without making it long winded as I know most people like words on a picture to be minimal and straight to the point (I know most don't be bothered to read it if it is long). I had a go at trying to portray this lovers game and hope it works...
