Yep....this would be Me. I've had a few friends wanting me to post a pic of me....and as much as I didn't want to, here it is. I really don't like being on the other side of the lens!! And this can only be viewed by friends and family.....I just hope I don't lose a bunch of contacts over this post : ))

There's no secret, this is Yoshkar-Ola, Russia, again. An another hdr pic from this pretty city. We were charmed by the view and the architecture of the historical center there.

First seen in China already in the 4th century B.C, which classifies it as one of the oldest instruments.

This time there was no wind

That is us, isn't it
We keep stuff inside
Stuff that needed to be said out loud
Injustice
Being treated with no respect
Mean words from others
Even mean actions from others
All the scars we get
Maybe we act mean towards others because we don't deal with the people that actually was mean to us in the first place
All what we endure
And we just keep them inside us
Doesn't do us any good at all
So important to react
Out of respect for yourself
You grow you know, when you are standing up for yourself
Because that is your job
Luckily there is calm sea too
We all love the reflections and serenity that goes with the calmness
I guess that is what most of us want for ourselves too
Maybe that's why we love water
Water feeds us, nourish us
We can see all sides of our personality in the water and we respect that
We actually love it
Just as we should love ourselves
Just as we should do the honor of respecting ourselves
That's my recipe for nourishing myself
Maybe it will be the recipe for others too
When we do love and respect ourselves, then others will too
It all comes from you
Endlessly gliding around looking for prey., guessing and photographing the precise moment a bird of prey rolls into a dive is as much luck as it is judgement
This one obliged whilst I was following him through the lens., but I don't mind admitting I missed a lot of potentially good shots by not paying attention at the vital moment

Details of sand dunes in soft evening light, Death Valley Naitonal Park.
Sand dunes are always fascinating subjects, both for their appearance as part of the larger landscape and because they contain almost infinite varieties of smaller subjects, textures, colors, and variations in light. I made a wild guess recently that I’ve probably been to Death Valley perhaps twenty-five times. You’d think that I might start to tire of the dunes or run out of things to photograph there… but there’s not sign of this happening.
We went to these dunes late in the day and had them entirely to ourselves. The light was challenging, as clouds were building to the west. As the clouds moved the light increased and decreased, but overall it remained quite soft the entire time. But this just provides another variation on how we can photograph this subject, and the soft light lets me reveal some subtle details that can be lost in brighter conditions. I made some post-processing choices here that highlight the variations in light and the soft forms of the dunes.

This weeks theme couldn't have hit at a better time. When you look in and around and see things as you should see them. Sometimes it isn't all roses and sunshine. But you can always find your way out of those moments by looking further.. and loving yourself first and foremost and realizing not everyone or everything is as it seems.

I guess castles always have a touch of Romance about them certainly Dunstanburgh Castle on the edge of the North Sea seems particularly magical. Taken a very warm July day back in 2013
Dunstanburgh Castle is a 14th-century fortification on the coast of Northumberland in northern England, located between the villages of Craster and Embleton. The castle was built by Earl Thomas of Lancaster between 1313 and 1322, taking advantage of the site's natural defences and the existing earthworks of a former Iron Age fort. Thomas was a leader of a baronial faction opposed to King Edward II, and probably intended Dunstanburgh to act as a secure refuge, should the political situation in southern England deteriorate. The castle also served as a statement of the earl's wealth and influence, and would have invited comparisons with the neighbouring royal castle of Bamburgh. Thomas probably only visited his new castle once, before being captured at Battle of Boroughbridge as he attempted to flee royal forces for the safety of Dunstanburgh. Thomas was executed, and the castle became the property of the Crown, before passing into the Duchy of Lancaster.

Guess where I've been today. Yep, the British Wildlife Centre. Yes, again ... so?! I happen to love it there. :)) It was pretty grey a lot of the day and kept threatening rain, but luckily it held off. The water voles were out and about and it's always a pleasure to see them. I didn't notice the large ant on the rim of the pipe until I looked at this image at home.
