Friday, March 11, marked Day 1 of SXSW 2016. While I was initially planning to catch the SXSW Film Festival's opening night premiere, I changed those plans after Friskies invited me to be a VIP at the Friskies Cat Concoctions private party held in honor of Grumpy Cat (a.k.a. Tardar Sauce). The party also featured live musical performances by singers Blake Lewis and Ryan Cabrera. Here, Blake and Ryan pose for a few pics with Grumpy Cat. I wasn't close enough to get a good shot, but you can see a much better photo in this Mashable article.
Joe Williams already had the perfect wax sculpture on hand when asked for his version of a grumpy cat. Is it more feline or more devil? There is no way to be sure, but anyone in their right mind would not cross paths with this menacing character.

The big draw at Mashable House during SXSW 2014 was the opportunity to get a photo with the meme-tastic Grumpy Cat. I wasn't willing to wait in the huge queue that was outside the building when I first arrived, but the line was much shorter when I was leaving...so I hopped in line and got to have my photo taken with a very sleepy Grumpy Cat.
