Here is the top of the "Grouse Grind" climb. It might seem obvious because the trail is so steep that you do not want to go back down that way, but evey day dozens of idiots try to, and many get hurt.

The 1/2 way mark means 1.5 kilometers, which doesn't sound like much even as I type it. Rest assured that 1/2 to us felt like a glorious accomplishment at the time.
