Everybody is into outdoors in Vancouver. The closest mountain is Grouse mountain, approx. 1200m heigh. You can either take the gondola or do the grouse grind. Some people do it regularly in order to be in shape and can do it in about 30 minutes! crazy! Many are "running" up the stairs with their iPods. So I guess, that is why...
