Following on from groundwork set during 2015, Transdev continues to refresh the image of its operations for 2016 complete with three new rebrands for Harrogate, Keighley and Blackburn. Two 'spare' Gemini's for route 36 were unveiled in the full new brand image earlier this year along with the fleetname of "The Harrogate Bus Company", though the operation still legally trades as Harrogate & District Travel Ltd. This new image has now started to spread out across the network, with route 1 which connects Harrogate and Knaresborough being the first to receive single deckers in the new two-tone red livery with the added bonus of having been refurbished and given a facelift so as to resemble a Wright Eclipse Urban 2 complete with crystal-clear white LED destination equipment, whilst branding sees the number 1 logo given the same 'defragmentation' style as is used on route 36. One of the Volvo B7RLE's now assigned for route 1 is YJ07 PDU which is here at the depot open day. The interior refurbishment has seen a sky vinyl added to the ceiling whilst Wi-FI and USB sockets have been fitted too; but most notably the seating has been re-trimmed to the brand new style which will be used across the Blazefield fleets and specially branded routes - the seat moquette is a Ray Stenning 'Creating Desire' creation, whilst headrests are leather and are coloured according to the company the bus is based at (Red for Harrogate, Green for Keighley, Blue for Blackburn and also for Yorkshire Coastliner). The moquette itself is a grey base overlayed with the triangular chunks of colour which are used in the external livery to denote each fleet... red for Harrogate (also for RedExpress), black for route 36, orange for Little Explorers, grey for CityZap, mid-blue for Blackburn, light-blue for Coastliner, green for Keighley, lime-green/yellow for DalesWay, purple/pink for Hotline (a brand yet to be launched, to connect Burnley and Preston via Blackburn)

An example of Keighley's new company brand "the Keighley Bus Company" is seen on YJ16 DWL, one of six brand new air-conditioned (Thermo-King) 11.7m long Optare Versa single deckers to the operation; only 3 are branded for the K7 route as the other 3 have been given a yellow/green livery (which has been noted to be very similar to the 'Badgerline' livery of the West of England area in the 1990's) and have been branded for the route 66 DalesWay service - the brand had not been launched at the time of this depot open day. Interestingly, despite Optare offering a new revised style for the rear end, Transdev have specifically ordered these Versa's with the conventional rear end complete with 'Spider Eyes' rear light clusters. Groundwork Denver Green Team youth leader Asnoldo Benitez read poems about nature and its importance around the campfire as the sunset over Mt Evans and the Pike National Forest. The youth worked for five hours with Colorado Mountain Bike Association building trails. then they played, rode bikes, and still had time for stories.

Groundwork is being laid for The View at Marlton, a section of the Greentree Executive Campus being redeveloped into a retail-office complex.
Groundworks North Wales, Big Lottery funded initiative alongside the River Dee at Dock Road Connahs Quay
Since construction began in September 2017, the site of the Mukilteo Multimodal Terminal Project has taken shape. Crews have removed walls from the abandoned tank farm and are working to construct building and bridge supports, as well as install stormwater utility lines.
Construction on the main terminal building will begin in August 2018 and the new terminal is expected to open for operation in December 2019.

Groundwork RVA's Green Team participated in a service learning camp at SNP. The Green Team performed several service projects in the park, one of which was lopping locust in Big Meadows where the education staff conducts programs.
This program is supported by a generous donation from the Shenandoah National Park Trust.

In an order of 24 vehicles, YJ16 DVV and YJ16 DWL are brand new 11.7m air-conditioned (Thermo-King) Optare Versa single deckers - the order split with 18 to Blackburn (as per 230 on the left) and 6 to Keighley as per 242 in the centre. On the afternoon and evening of 1 November 2022, vicious and heavy showers affected the south of Hampshire. Most people at this Fareham supermarket chose to brave them or wait for a break. The alternative chosen by one flatbed truck was to park at an angle in the aisle between four disabled spaces, obstructing all four to a greater or lesser extent. Of the driver there was no sign.

Laying the groundwork for the occupation of the restored North Hollywood Southern Pacific / Pacific Electric depot by Goundworks Coffee, implying the opening of the business in the not-too-distant future. By extrapolation, the pedestrian underpass to the Metro Red Line subway station should also be open soon.
Groundwork Lawrence Earth Day is a city-wide cleanup event that happens every year. Held virtually over the last two years, we are excited that, once again, it will be an in-person event!! Volunteers of all ages are welcome to help out as are businesses, schools, non-profits, and community organizations.
I took this picture on the site of the old Merton Board Mills in High Street [Priory Road] Merton in 1999. I've got it down as a lime spreader but I bet it did more than it said on the tin.
