It would be good to say roaring up Shap, but the reaility was 60056 was barely moving as she hauled her heavy load of Pennine stone from Ribblehead Quarry to Tuebrook. Her diversion also caught many out waiting for her south of Ribblehead, expecting her to run around at Blea Moor.

Everyday coffee for the daily grind?

Lytham Windmill is situated on Lytham Green in the coastal town of Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, England. It is of the type known as a tower mill and was designed for grinding wheat and oats to make flour or bran.

Here's what Wikipedia has to say about it:- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lytham_Windmill

Ein Spaziergang durch die Rheinauen des Zonser Grind. Nach zweieinhalb Stunden Fußweg ging die Sonne unter und es wurde Feuchtkalt.

A walk through the Rhine meadows of the Zonser Grind. After two and a half hours of walking, the sun went down and it got damp and cold.

grind, Grind, GRIND!

Uhmm, could you please make a grumpy face? The "daily grind" is about the daily chores you don't like, but just have to do. Something like...

coffee, Coffee, COFFEE!!!1

I thougfht more along the lines of "work, work, work..."

Yeah, and where do you drink your coffee?! work, Work WORK!

You are crazy!

No, just a coffee addict!

Toy Project Day 2312

With conditions being rather grey and murky, I decided to concentrate on the waterfalls in Grindsbrook Clough rather than head up to Kinder and 0 visibility.

After shooting the 11:00 crude loads, we booked it south to a location near "Railfan Rock". After climbing a hill, we were surprised to hear the sound of another train, working up-hill from the east. With an SD40-2 in notch 8 on both ends, a tailings train slowly ground past us, on its way up to the Northshore's Tailings Pond. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw Difco side dump cars!

A UP manifest grinds up the western side of the Tehachapi Mountains and into the setting sun between Caliente and Bealville.

and you thought your job was bad. pfft!

There are animals I'd like to be reincarnated as in the next life. A black mamba for one..I like their attitude. A grizzly bear..being able to sleep for months would be so awesome (cause I can't sleep for more than about four hours at a time..hate it). Just about any kind of bird that flies, as we've talked about before. But then I'd be a little trepidatious about a cosmic joke like being the bird that spends its days sifting through dirt for worms or these guys looking for sand fleas or whatever and pooping sand. I don't want to poop sand..ever.

An empty grain train emerges from Jarrett's Tunnel deep in the mountains between Old Fort and Asheville, NC on the 'Southern Loops'. Through trains were removed from this route in May of 2020, in favor of longer but less-mountainous routings. However in the last 3 months or so once a blue moon Norfolk Southern will send a "mainline train" up the loops to Asheville and on to Knoxville. Something once done many times per day is now done, at best, a few times per month.

This grinding wheel stands with other old country implements at College Lake near Tring. It looks as though it has had a lot of use in the past. I wonder what it was grinding, probably farming tools.

I've been looking for good light to photograph this in.
