“Don't be ashamed to weep; 'is right to grieve. Tears are only water, and flowers, trees, and fruit cannot grow without water. But there must be sunlight also. A wounded heart will heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our lost ones are sealed inside to comfort us.” ― Brian Jacques, Taggerung

Time is
Too Slow for those who Wait,
Too Swift for those who Fear,
Too Long for those who Grieve,
Too Short for those who Rejoice;
But for those who Love,
Time is not.

I miss the long talks where we said nothing at all.
The way you made me laugh until my sides hurt.
The way your words were encouraging and understanding.
The tears we shared.
Building new worlds with you.
The look you gave when I'd do something stupid.
I regret the last time, every time.

Wishing an end to aids once and for all. Grieving for all those who lost their lives to aids, to those presently suffering from aids, to all the wonderful people who look after and care for those with aids and for all the important and successful researchers who make our lives better!
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
A sculpture of the grieving mother, at the Cairn of Peace Memorial in the Czech Republic. A beautiful and very touching memorial built to honor the dead who fought in the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805. mohylamiru.muzeumbrnenska.cz/en/index.aspx There is another sculpture of the grieving bride, equally as lovely, on the other side of the entry to the very interesting museum. Hopefully, in this coming new year, we can find a way to find more kindness and peace in the world...and fewer mothers, fathers, and children who are weeping for those lost on battlefields.
Since you've been gone
I've been lost inside tried and failed as we walked by the riverside
and I wish you could see the love in her eyes
the best friend that eluded you lost in time
burned alive in the heat of a grieving mind
But what can I say now?
it couldn't be more wrong cause there's no one there
unmistakably lost and without a care
did we lose all the love that we could have shared
and it's wearing me down
and it's turning me round
and I can't find a way now to find it out
Where are you when I need you...?
Are you there?
They say bad things happen for a reason
But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding
'Cause she's moved on while I'm still grieving
And when a heart breaks no it don't break even, even... no

"I grieve for you
And you leave me
It's so hard to move on
Still loving what's gone
And still life carries on
Carries on and on, and on, and on"

Took a walk through the necropolis of Modica (Sicily, Italy). It's so beautiful it makes you cry. That particular angel caught my eye. It's such a touching statue.
To my beautiful Tango, my faithful and most loyal companion. For 11 years you have been there, through thick and thin, good and bad times, you still loved me unconditionally after all of that. I'm going to miss you my sweet boy.

Letters written but can never be sent.
Time blurs when you grieve.
It’s almost as if you are hanging on by the thinnest of ropes, dangling over the deep dark depths of despair.
For you, my first born daughter, how I miss you.
I wore orange today, because it was your favourite colour.
The jeans I chose made me smile a little because I would remember all the times you said “mum please dont wear those torn jeans, you’re too old”
I styled my hair the way it always was when life was so very different.
It was a life that I failed to realise was perfect until it ended.
As I dangle here by one fragile grasp, I think of you, I think of how different all our lives would be now.
All I can do at these times is to feel blessed that you left behind a part of yourself to continue on.
When this thread becomes very weak and feels as though it is breaking I hold onto the love from the family that I have left.
Memories are fragile. Memories are precious.
Memories ..................

°°°°°°°°°°°°
Many animals have been proven to express some form of grief. From Tanzania, Jane Goodall once recorded a young chimpanzee that died of grief following the death of his mother only weeks earlier. One study followed a beluga whale that carried her deceased calf for almost a full week, while another found lemurs giving “lost” calls in the presence of a killed family member.
Out of all these, however, perhaps elephants resemble a human’s mourning patterns most closely.

There are a lot of hurting people at the moment. My thoughts are with you.
I lost a friend last week, not to the virus. I am still sad I knew her for over 40 years.

I've been grieving a lot on these past months, and been keeping to myself because each has a way of dealing with it. But maybe I wanted to avoid the overall feeling of pity that puts everyone in an awkward situation like if we're not aware of the conditional mortality we've been all imposed to.
Still processing that, don't come at me.
Today, as I was continuing to shoot the Colonia apartments, I read on the news that Rita Lee passed away. And let me tell you, she left a lot behind to be celebrated.
Death, even if it is the only thing we can be sure of, shouldn't be banalized. It should, instead, be naturalized so we can actually process the feelings and the memories we have of those who aren't physically amongst us anymore. There is a difference there.
I can only be grateful for have lived in the same time that she did, even though she has been kicking ass way before I was born. And I hope you'll encounter my dear ones wherever you are now. They're good people, kind of badass like you too.
Thank you for everything, Rita. You definitely rocked our worlds ♥
After my wife’s brother passed away last October, she decided to make memory Quilts for her brother’s four children.
The process has been a learning experience for me as I watched from the sidelines while she selected items of her deceased brother’s clothing and several old family photographs. The photos had to be cleaned up and enlarged, then printed on fabric; the clothing was cut into usable pieces
Finally, the quilting began; four Quilts were designed, one for each of her brother’s children. Three have been completed and she is just starting to put the fourth and final Quilt together.
I snapped this photo just as the “pinning” step of the project was begun. This Quilt still has a long way to go before completion, but hopefully the Quilts will become a treasured family heirloom. A Brother is gone, but will not be forgotten.

WINTER SONG – SARA BAREILLES/INGRID MICHAELSON
For Mr Cogsley, mountain climber both physical and metaphysical.
“Could this universe have provided us with a kinder heart or gentler soul … “ - AP
Our worlds collide and coincide
a soul mate is close; a friend is found
does not matter if he's not human
in this case he's a cat
and as anyone who was ever owned by a cat knows
they are more human than we are somehow
this Winter song is just for you
remembering all of that
the times you played
the times you stayed
the letting go of you
I know you are at peace now, friend
you ventured into the blue
and beyond the snowy mountains
where your friend still loves to go
I know you will be watching over him
protecting him on the snow
or in the woods where you once walked
taking time; listening to every word he talked
distracted by a bird or two
in your nature to have stalked
but gently you let go of them
as your friend let's go of you
a new year in his life begun
and he'll be missing you
but you will always be there
walking by his side
no matter where he is in this world
no matter where he resides
for a soul mate never leaves you
they are bound within your soul
and your heart will carry on beating
within the heart of the man you once knew
our lives are many; our loves are too
but always he will come back to you
a special place looking out the window
while the Winter's snow falls deep and cold
and birds will miss your watchful gaze
and remember you of old
so to my friend who was your friend
your family as well
I send my warmest heart felt wishes
for in my mind you dwell
and memories are sweet and plenty
for him you were his friend
and as you step through yet another doorway
I know your life will never end
for in the minds of those who love us
we remain alive through them
as they recall the lovely memories
of all you were and are until we meet again.
