Heaven peeps through the clouds over the Glenshirra Forest.

This old building, is in our main street here in Oberon, was once used by one of our local banks, NBA, sadly they left and now it's an Antique shop.

Here is another shot, I captured, as we were driving along O'Connell Rd.heading home after being in Bathurst.

This Sulphur-crested-cockatoo was watching out and making sure the TV signal was still good.

Pennington Country Park September, a hive of activity this morning with the Mute Swan pair and their 6 cygnets, all looking healthy and eating up before winter, although warm today the clouds were gathering, still a lovely view from Tom Edmondson Hide.

This Sulphur-crested-cockatoo was watching me and keeping an eye on me for about 3 minutes before taking off.

While I was sitting in the car waiting for Ian and Johnny I took this shot of the beautiful Church in Howick Street Bathurst.

Decided to give the image a vintage feel, as it could be timeless apart from the cranes in the background.

The sky was doing everything yesterday and we even saw a bit of blue, though not much! I just liked how this came out with the sun shining so brightly on the house and the very grey clouds behind. Though I did take the photo to show off the very well trimmed hedge.

Better viewed large.

Golden hour with the Olympus Centurion and well-expired Fuji Nexia 800 APS film

24th May 2021 :

We actually had some sunshine today, along with heavy showers and grey clouds too, but it was good to see some blue.

Just a pity I couldn't get out to make the most of it ... Maybe tomorrow ...

Looking back to Tresillian

Here is another shot that I captured as we were heading home from Bathurst.

The sky looked very stormy, but all we got was a little bit of rain.

Took this dramatic image Mid Afternoon yesterday of an approaching storm arriving from the Irish Sea on the North Wales Coast - two miles distant over the North Easterly village of Rhyd y Foel using a Tamron 28-300MM lens.

Ten minutes later, the clouds were overhead - creating squally conditions with heavy rain and hailstones falling - indicative of this type of cloud.

Towering Cumulonimbus Clouds are a type of Cumulus Cloud associated with thunderstorms and heavy precipitation - producing rain, hail, thunder and lightning. They are formed beneath 20,000ft - are relatively close to the ground and the reason they have so much moisture.

Incoming on a North Westerly airstream, they would have continued gathering much moisture when crossing the Irish Sea before making land.

Cotehele’s garden is relatively young in historical terms. There is a suggestion that there may have been a Medieval or Tudor terraced garden to the north of the house.

Early paintings suggest that the land immediately surrounding the house was put to agricultural use with cattle grazing close by. It was not until Lady Countess Caroline moved to Cotehele in 1862 that the garden began to slowly develop. The lily pond in the upper garden is thought to have been dug as late as the early 20th century.

Throughout the two world wars, the gardens fell into a state of neglect. Throughout the 1950s large areas were cleared and, following a plan introduced by gardens adviser Graham Stuart Thomas in the 1960s, the gardens were slowly restored. Since this time the garden has continued to develop, vary and evolve each year.

Stopped at a traffic light, I looked up and saw this handsome electric pole and its intersection companions. I find intersections to be a visual adventure abound with a conglomeration of lines and shapes competing or cooperating in a limited space. However, I seldom have the opportunity to take a photo since I'm behind the wheel and the green light will all too quickly press me to move on. On this day, my camera was at my side and I quickly picked it up for a quick shot.

Here is are two shots I captured, earlier today, The weather was crazy it was rather warm, and very windy with on and off rain, no storm.

This Sulphur-crested-cockatoo was sitting there all alone.

Here is an run down barn nestled in the country-side tucked away amongst the trees. .

In keeping with the weather this weekend . . .

Gunwalloe Church Cove is located on the west coast of the Lizard Peninsula roughly midway between Helston and Lizard Point. It is an unusual beach in that there is a church set below the low cliffs of Castle Mound at its northern end. It is a popular south west facing beach of sand, rocks and pebbles and on the main beach there is a large expanse of golden sand at low tide. Both beaches are in the stewardship of the National Trust.

This Sulphur-crested-cockatoo was squawking while he was flying over head.

Here is another lot of clouds passing by.

As I was turning to go home I noticed that the clouds were coming over again, but that there was a hole showing me just a bit of blue.

Thank you for your favourites. :O)

With an audible sigh of relief, rain has finally returned to Worcestershire. Like many other parts of the country we have had weeks of soaring temperatures and blazing sunshine. The allotment was struggling, the grass had turned brown, the Teme had dried up, and even the Severn had turned into a sluggish ooze you could practically walk across.

Finally, the wind picked up, the clouds built and down came the rain.

This is the Defford Radio Telescope looking up at the storm, lit up by low sun that momentarily peeped through a slot in the cloud.

Here is another shot of the racing track, this was taken at Mt Panorama in Bathurst NSW Australia.

I saw a few Laughing Kookaburras and I couldn't resist ad took three photos, Sadly it;s not the greatest thanks to the late afternoon lightning. But i trough they still looked ok.

Patches of sunshine drift across snow covered fells above Holwick, Upper Teesdale, taken from Middle Side..

These clouds just passed by, we didn't end up getting a storm only a little sprinkle of rain.

This Log truck was heading towards the pine factory, I see a lot of this trucks, heading in and out of Oberon.

I took this as we were driving along the Mitchell highway heading towards Orange.

Here is the last shot that i captured from Jamison Lookout here at Wentworth Falls in The Blue Mountains NSW Australia

Established in 1888, it connects St Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula with Feock, Truro and Falmouth by avoiding the alternative 27 mile route through Truro & Tresillian. The King Harry Ferry offers its passengers the chance to avoid miles of congested roads and once aboard you can get out and enjoy the slow river crossing which takes in one of Cornwall’s deepest and most beautiful rivers – the Fal River.

The iconic ferry with its glass side, chain viewing windows and touch screen information display is combining state of the art technology with a traditional friendly service. www.falriver.co.uk/ferries/king-harry-ferry

i love the clouds in this photo. the windmill is nice too.

Gray Clouds

Permanent gray clouds hover near,

The rain that follows is what I fear.

I run for shelter but there is nothing here.

The showers don't start off small

Oh, life doesn't like me at all.

The things that bring me solace are slim

and my future in this world is looking pretty grim.

I will not let the clouds swallow me up

so instead I drown my sadness in a cup.

All I can do is wish for sun tomorrow

to hopefully dry up all my sorrow.

This cute Male Galah had just enjoyed his bath, and now he is sitting there trying to dry out,

Here is another shot I captured, while I was waiting for Ian to pick me up.

We were slowly down due to roadworks, they are constantly working on this road.

I was passing by this birch tree in a dreary parking lot one blustery pre-spring day and was taken by the leaves which had hung on from the previous autumn through the frozen winter giving us a reminder of the past and a nod to the passage that was soon to come. The vigorous wind-blown movement of the leaves gave a breath of life to the otherwise grey surroundings. The dance of these birch trees became a sweet memory.

Sadly, this tree is now gone along with it's companions. At least I have this image as a reminder.
