Site-specific work made for the occasion of the 2013 Miami art fairs. Available at Catharine Clark Gallery, Booth #403, Miami Project, Dec. 3-8, 2013

PROJECT STATEMENT:
Made for the occasion of the 2013 Miami art fairs, Stephanie Syjuco's work furthers her interests in the complexities of art commodities, while pairing it with the recent Trayvon Martin controversy that took place in Florida during the recent year. In the aftermath of the furor over the acquittal of George Zimmerman, there were whispers in the art community of boycotting the upcoming art fairs in order to divest from Florida's economy (an act which never materialized). By calling attention to this recent history, her work questions the nature of art markets, commodities, and the fraught complications of addressing politics while embedded within economic institutions. The resulting work is about frustration and short-term memory, an attempt at silently partaking in a system we are all complicit in.
Second in series from Southport Air Show (first post of the Red Arrows is here). This lot were cool – bigger stones than me to be doing this kind of thing. I wanted a more cinematic kind of feel to these shots so the processing is quite different. If you go to Team Guinots home page then apparently you can sign up to be a wing-walker – after you, no really, I insist….

Ojalá el año que viene tengan más previsión y alguna solución con el humo y la dirección del viento. Una pena.
Found in the same woods as the GT car. There was a lot more in the woods, but there were some sketchy-ass dudes in a car a little ways down the road, so I took off.
Any visit to Death Valley National park isn't complete until you go to Mesquite dunes. Even though walking on sand with all the gear is annoying (add to that strong winds blowing sands in your nose, ears), the patterns on the dunes make it really worth it.
In order to find a pristine spot, one has to walk a lot if starting from the parking lot area - since there are too many footsteps around the parking lot area. There is a trail-head (36.616285, -117.071825) ~2.5 miles from parking lot of mesquite sand dunes (towards Beatty Junction), from where such pristine spots can be found without walking too much on sand.
A city skyline silhouette over Pasig river. Pasig river is the main tributary of Manila Bay and cuts across almost all the cities of the metropolis. I shot this sunset scene atop the Pandacan bridge.
The drab gray clouds and the black foreground figures provide a good contrast with the bright orange sunset colors.
Another attempt at getting the obelisk on Killiney Hill reflected in the globe, don't think it quite worked this time but the reflection seems quite sharp, what do you think?
This is in between a break in storms. This is a non-photshoped pic. This is about as natural as the image looked. I touched it up a bit in picasa but nothing serious.

A storm was brewing near the apartment complex where my wife and I reside. I snapped the picture when I got home from work.

A day of rain and greyness had come to its conclusion...the clouds were breaking...the Sun setting...there were patches of low hanging fog...haunting, yet illuminating. I went out with the 135mm with no real expectations...The Clouds Reflecting just beyond the melting ice were full of tension.
