Canola oil, or canola for short, is a vegetable oil derived from rapeseed. I could not resist taking quite a few photos of these bright yellow canola fields, ready for harvesting, contrasted against the dark thunder clouds. The rain was already falling in places but the sun even found a few places through the dense clouds to form wonderful textures and contrasts.

Here is number 7 part of the lake George series.

Looking down the wall at the remaining tower along the River Clwyd.

From Wikipedia:

Rhuddlan is next to the River Clwyd. During the fortification's lengthy construction, the river course was straightened and dredged to allow ships to sail inland along a man-made channel. Its purpose was to allow provisions and troops to reach the castle even if hostile forces or a siege prevented overland travel.

This is an HDR image made up from 9 exposures (-4 to +4) processed in Photomatix. While the contrast was difficult, 9 exposures was probably more than it needed but I wanted to see if there was any noticable benefit from the increased range. I dont think there is.

The end picture was processed using Alien Skin to recreate a film effect.

The weather has been changeable to say the least. From unbearably hot, to much cooler, to thunderstorms and rain. The summer happened earlier in the year during lockdown when I was busy, working from home. Tonight’s rain was great for the garden and the bonus: a beautiful rainbow.

We were on our way home now This was taking from the car.

Corrour, Scotland, UK - September 26, 2017: The "Deerstalker" train, part of the Caledonian Sleeper, is hauled across the peat bog wilderness of Rannoch Moor near Corrour in the Highlands of Scotland early in the morning.

A very dreary clouded-over sunset. There is an "Office Depot" a short walk down the street but I forgot to snap any pics of it !!

Looking over the River Tees from the south side to Demesnes Mill, a former water mill, now a private house, Barnard Castle. Teesdale. Taken in late March in watery spring sunshine, the river is swollen by earlier rain.

A sad sight, beautiful old home going through phases of demolition (now fully complete). I passed this hose so much on Dominion Road Extension, admiring its large front window an extremely tidy appearance. This happening all over the city, in many cases to very nice existing homes making way for ugly new ones :(

Looking across to Demesnes Mill from the riverbank footpath. My usual preferred viewpoint for this shot is today under approx 2 metres of River Tees!
