On Saturday, April 14th, twenty-seven residents, including Councilman Corey O’Connor, five teenagers, and three little ones came out to redd up the neighborhood. Everyone met at the Magee Field Basketball Courts for coffee and homemade pastries and then fanned out to pick up the field, the steps off Greenfield Avenue into the Run and up to Bigelow, the steps from the Avenue to Minnesota, Windsor Street, and under the Murray Avenue Bridge. They also painted over graffiti, weeded the island at Ronald in preparation for a spring planting, and cleared the sidewalk along the Avenue below the car wash.
The total haul was 27 large black bags, 9 large blue bags, and 2 large paper bags of weeds.
Thanks to everyone who helped! Greenfield is a lot cleaner because of you.
