The Henry Ford is the largest mixed indoor-outdoor museum in the United States. Dozens of original and replica buildings were erected in a village-like setting, showing how Americans had lived and worked in throughout history. Buildings include Noah Webster's home, Wright brothers' bicycle shop and home, a replica of Thomas Edison's Menlo Park laboratory, Henry Ford's birthplace, the Harvey Firestone family farm, and the Logan County, Illinois courthouse where Abraham Lincoln practiced law. Horse-drawn carriages, Model T replicas, Model AA buses travel through the park, which a steam locomotive moves around.

Once there were valleys...where rivers used to run
Once there were blue skies with white clouds high above
Once they were part of an everlasting hope
We were the lovers who strolled through greenfields

The chapel is one of six non-denominational chapels built around the country as a tribute to Mr. & Mrs Ford’s mothers, Martha Bryant & Mary Litogot Ford. From 1930 to 1969, children from Greenfield Village School system started each day here with a non-denomination service. www.wrenscottage.com/gvm/village/chapel.php

The playground at Greenfield Village has a "construction site" aesthetic. It always makes me think of the classic children's book, Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel.
