Obviously there was quite the locomotive servicing complex here at one time. This is former Green Bay & Western Norwood Yard. Here's a map: www.greenbayroute.com/norwoodchart.htm
This sign still proclaims the entrance to Wisconsin Central's Green Bay Intermodal Terminal which was in the old Milwaukee Road Yard. The yard is but an empty field now and the entrance road ends at the the former CNW/FRVR mainline.
A little tribute to the Green Bay Packers for winning the National Football Conference Championship and heading to the Super Bowl.
I guess I've been a Packers fan most of my life. When I was 6 or 7 a family vacation took us through Green Bay, and we saw the Packers in a practice session back in the days of Bart Starr. We picked up a souvenir jersey for me and my Mom wanted to get #66 because she thought it would be cute for me to be "Phillip 66." Little did she know it was actually the number of the great linebacker Ray Nitschke. And then the following Christmas one of my gifts was a Packers helmet, which got a little banged up in backyard football games.
For some reason I've hung on to these two items, pictured in the diptych, for the past 40 years.

It was unusual for a railroad in the 1990s to still use cabooses. But here is one on the Green Bay & Western Plover Turn. July 20, 1993. © 2020 Peter Ehrlich
The rear tower now displays a 6th order fresnel lens and sports a copper roof and ventilator ball on the lantern.
My royal blue Werner truck, just before I picked up a trailer. You can see my big snow-disturbing footprints.

We had a baby shower for my daughter and son in law last weekend.
My in laws are major Packer fans. Which I suppose could be worse. At least they aren't Bears fans :)
Oh and yes he will have some Lions stuff also!!!
Who knows maybe during my grandsons life he will get to witness the Lions making it through the playoffs???!!!!

"A feature of the two-story central court in the Port Plaza Mall is the unique four-faced clock. Built in 1885, the clock as for decades a fixture in the tower of the Winona, Minnesota, city hall. It was rebuilt expressly for the Green Bay shopping center and installed in 1977. Photograph by Ken Wesely; courtesy of Port Plaza Mall."
This Taco Bell location is a throwback to the late 1980s and early 1990s. The new coat of paint on the walls and arches seems like an attempt to modernize this design while keeping the old logo and color scheme intact.

This McDonald's, located at the corner of Shawano and Miliary Avenue, replaced an older location which originally stood on the site from 1959 to 2010. The neon Speedee sign, which was of equally hististorical significance, was restored in 2004.
