Growing up, she lived in a world of color

Tiny hands trying to touch the reds, blues, and greens.

Bright and vivid tones bouncing off her corneas.

Every shady tree, a growing garden, was a door to a new place,

Each step she took opened a world

But of course her tiny hands did not stay small.

She grew taller and smarter and didn't notice

When the colors began to fade.

Overlooked all the old worlds she once loved.

She saw only a simple tree, a lonely garden,

A single black and white world.

She led a grayscale life for so many years,

Until she picked up a camera and saw the colors reappear.

Shades of black and white and in between

After desaturating these photos (to get a true grayscale), I realized how much color there actually was in this outfit.

Can you wear gray with gray hair? I think so. You can also wear red with red hair and yellow with blond and brown with brunette. I like the harmony of matching shades. So, today, it’s grayscale.

Blazer, Poetry Clothing (thrifted). Turtleneck, A New Day. Skirt, Madewell. Boots, Fergie.

Just the grayscale version of the pair of galaxies with Hubble data only. I wrote a bunch of extra information on the color post.

Some people want to draw us back into what we once did, but by the grace of God, we no longer do.

Photographed from a viewpoint along the road in Grandad Bluff Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

It's so complicated,

Too much grey between us

All the colors faded

I wish that we could be black and white

Our love plain and simple love

So now we gotta find a way to make the colors change

Black and white, plain and simple love again

No more holding on to that damning greys phase

And our love - we need colors, no more blurry lines, oh

But we don't talk about, it won't just solve itself

Why are colors beginnin' to fade away?

Once so bright but now they've lost a shade oh

Like who knows, what could make them change?

So now we gotta find a way to make those colors stay.

Introduction: I know what you're thinking. She used Katie-Lynn again??? I know, I know. But in my own defense she was literally the only model I had with eyes "glowy" enough to really convey the vision I had for this shoot. But fear not. In days to come you shall see other faces.

Behind the Photoshoot: So I wanted to do something with deep, contrasting shadows and something edgy all at once. I thought lots about what my model here could wear and what the overall style of the shoot might be. Originally, I wanted to something outdoors in like pine or something with mid-day sun tho light, but as the days soon gray outside (effecting the effect natural light would have had) I ended up doing this, which I find to be very simple and studio-esque. I like how most everthing turned out however.

Personal Update: So lets see. It's about that time of year I start getting behind in school subjects (mind you I'm homeschooled and I am in charge of most of my own assignments) So I've just kinda been playing catch up with Math and English and Chemistry and Anatomy. Also trying to raise my SAT score up by 500 points, but with about 2 weeks left til my next test we'll see how much I improve after studying and memorizing my butt off. Aside from school, my job's going fine. Found out I'm working 6-8 shifts next week cause, you know, Black Friday and everything. Pray I can remember all the sales and all the product locations well enough to sell the product. Annnnd ya. Fun fact: I stayed up til 2 this morning watching college dorm tours and I'll have you know the were actually informative and insightful. Also made me a little excited about going to college.

K. Bye now. ;)
