Image taken Christmas Eve, in Denton, MD. (2D-2007). This is not HDR or pseudo HDR. It was orginally one of a pair of images used for a 3D stereo format. The "anaglyph" 3D stereo colors were saturated and darkened for a more dramatic presentation. This was carried over when changed to grayscale.

The goal of this project was to create an achromatic value set and to use that value set to create a value set transparency illusion using two shapes.

The first panel was created by the use of black and white gouache that was mixed properly to create a distinguishable gray (achromatic) scale. The second panel was created using two values chosen from the achromatic value scale. The two values then combined by appearing to have a transparency overlap creating another value that is between the two values chosen.

This project was created with Folia 270G paper, painted with black and white goache, adhered to a 6"x8" sheet of Folia270G paper.
