This shot makes me think it' s a Harrier--the head is grey, and there's that owly-mask thing going on. And the eye looks yellow to me, not orange. And no black shoulder markings. Hmmm.

I'm just a beginner. And I got a Gray Ghost picture. Whoah.

An hour and a half after sunrise and much heavier fog than I had expected. I don't think I've ever seen a male Northern Harrier perched for so long, fluffed up against the cold. Took me a while to wrap my brain around the ID.

My sweet girl is eight years old now and I'm starting to fear her time may be close at hand. Even after all these years I still can't get her to sit still for pictures. She's such a great dog with so much personality, I love you Reag's.

Same pipe, a little further down. Radtke's blob on the center of the post created a gray "frame" which an amateur used to place his tag. It also marked out two spaces on either side which were filled with smaller works.
