Aug 11 223/365. Owen and Tiger insisted I take their picture tonight because it's been more than a month since their last photo. Owen won the coin toss to be photo of the day.
I tried a new technique to get this low key shot of Owen. I set the camera at its fastest speed (1/4000 sec) and used off camera flash to darken the background. It worked, but took 12 tries thanks to an uncooperative cat). Week 29 of 52 of 2012. The theme is LOW KEY.

I've kept the cat tail in water since I brought it home, its still holding up and ready for cat action.
The box even trumped Nikita's most favoritest place in the house, the hammock (complete with feather boa).
The only cat I've ever known that loves a stuffed animal. Teenie has loved her 'lizard' ever since she was a kitten.
Brillig hides out under the car as med-time approaches. (She's not too keen on the treatment she needs for CRF.) That bald spot is where the vet shaved her to draw a little blood so we could figure out what the heck was going on with her recent weight loss. She's a tiny little thing -- 8 lbs when she was young and healthy; down to a meager 5 1/2 now that she's old and dealing with this kidney thing. A few minutes after taking this shot I coaxed her out with a little bit of butter on my fingertip.
Aurora sleeps peacefully on the window seat after an extended stay at the vet's.
Today is Aurora's sixteenth birthday. I took her back to the vet today for a weigh-in, and she had gained a little more than a third of a pound since her last visit, which is extremely good news, given how much weight she had lost recently.

Here's what happens when it gets cold and gray in WNY in January. This is for a group called "stuff on my cat". This cat is over 20 lbs and will sit still for almost anything. Like my wife's new hat??
This is Tom. Tom is a big male cat that is ornery but overall a pleasant and friendly animal. He likes to see me when I go out to my oldest son's house in the country. Tom belongs to his Significant Other's sister.
I apologize for my absence on here from those of you who do still actually follow my work. My camera has been the last thing on my mind with everything else going on in my life. Still dealing with G's heart issues, trying to figure out what steps to take in what order to get him better. He's doing okay, it's just going to take time and it's overwhelming me at the moment.
We're bringing home a foster guinea pig tonight, who was left out by a dumpster. I'm anxious to meet the little fellow, get him happy and well, and to find him a really awesome home. Poor guy.
