Lately I've been feeling like I'm not grounded. I'm continually turning to photography because it definitely makes me feel more anchored. Happy Tuesday, Flickr.
Holding me down on this spinning planet. Here, the tangential speed of Earth's rotation is approximately 898 mph or 1446 km/h.
I woke up & decided that I wanted to defy gravity. After a few failed attempts, I was able to levitate about 4 feet off the ground. With more practice, I'll be getting my "Superman" on in no time!

Added a motion trail and tilt for the apple.
Haven't got around to doing something similar to a motion trail on a letter in the word Gravity yet.

Composition of three different pictures, two of which included a 430ex and 285HV.
Strobist: For the "floating model" picture, I had the camera directly overhead with a 430ex shooting through a white umbrella very close to the camera, also shooting down. I had a 285HV about 60 degrees to camera right bouncing off the ceiling.
For the shot of the room with the background stand, I had the same two flashes firing in the direction of the background stand, as can be seen in the picture.
Dancersend Lane, a 'gravity hill' near Tring, in Hertfordshire, where the landscape deceives the eye into thinking a gradient goes the other way. This cyclist is freewheeling, even though he appears to be going uphill.
Gravity was platted in 1881 on a treeless cornfield upon the arrival of the Humeston & Shenandoah Railway and incorporated two years later. The town was named after a post office located nearby but the origin of the Gravity name is apparently lost to time. The building was demolished in May 2022.
On March 31 2012, I was given the privilege of being able to ride on the Ffestiniog railway`s gravity train as a specially-invited brakesman.
It was an unique experience for me having the sensation of riding down on these wagons from the summit at Tanygrisiau power house to Minffordd, something that my grandfather could well have done when used to work at Maenofferen quarry.
My sincere thanks goes to Peter Dennis & Iain Wilkinson for making it possible for me to undertake this unique experience.
