I find the little things which I often overlook can suddenly catch my eye and become infinitely interesting. The challenge then is to catch what it was that drew me to them. Here it was the fact that the tiny, delicate grass stalks and seeds were brighter than their surroundings. I was using a relatively automatic pocket camera so had to play around quite a bit to get the exact focus I wanted.

pico iyer writes, "the point of gathering stillness is not to enrich the sanctuary or the mountaintop, but to bring that calm into the motion, the commotion, of the world."
rachel carson wrote: “those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life.” whenever life feels complicated (often by my own making), whenever i’m weary and filled with doubt, i try to remember: get outside; feel the earth under my feet; let wonder fill my heart and mind.

These photo's are all off an old back up hard drive, none of these photo's have been processed before. At the time of taking I took many shots, trying different settings, I posted some and others have just stayed dormant on my back up hard drive..

Rock formation on the coastline at Crosskirk, Caithness.
I quite liked how the sea has sculpted the shape of a ship in the rocks.
Polarising filter used to reduce the reflections on the water (this also produced a rich blue colour in the sky).
A couple of weeks ago I posted a photo of grass in black and white. Here it is in living, glowing colour. :-)
