New graphics card!

Photo-a-Day: Year 15, Day 157 - Total Days: 5270

While upgrading some old PC to Ubuntu 7.10, I installed a new (old) gfx card to see the latest OS desktop gizmos. The gfx card came with some gizmos of its own, like some useless blue leds. I like the green PCB though

The card has its own fan, which exhausts out the back of the card and the case. Again, I took advantage of the case's tool-less design. A type of clamp keeps add-on cards in place. No need to screw them down.

My entry for the F365 Monthly Photo Competition

FINALLY got a new computer on sunday.... it's impossible to live without a computer anymore, isn't it? especially when you have a photo project going on..... But anyway, i finally got one and now comes the horrendous task of restarting my organization and workflow. Neither is my strong point. And i can't seem to find all of my presets and actions I've made; I loaded all my back 365's into LR before importing the last known catalog... so i'll likely have to chose which things to keep there now- current or old. I wanted to do some stuff in PS but i can't just hit F8 and F3. and damn if i can remember how i set up those eFers. grrrr. uuugh. i need about 8 hours dedicated to just getting things loaded, reorganized, etc. I need a computer coach ;) but on a positive note......i think this computer will work just fine. i'm getting used to it on day 3 ;)

It isn't even hot here. Room temperature is about 22°C and all case fans are operational.

If I had a hot-air thingy I could try to reflow the RAM chips. But a replacement card is much cheaper than getting a cheap hot-air station. Maybe I will keep the card for experimenting with it later.
