Heres a closer look. Notice the images are aliased and look smooth. The polygon image cannot handle this type of processing without extra coding.

The black outline you can see is the selected image letting the user see which cell has been selected.

Mainly a passing interest ... I found a link to this resource on a random page I was viewing. The map is an interesting technique and makes a pretty picture, but lacks a certain amount of functionality. The colored dots have structural meaning as far as the page itself is concerned, however I would more appreciate it if it mapped links to favorites and other's favorites back to my page. Now that would be interesting.
