Grapes on a vine at the Domaine de Grand Pre vineyard in Grand Pre, Evangeline Trail, Minas Basin, Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia, Canada.
if not mistaken, there are 23 Turk's Head Knots that make this grape bunch. some are tied right-handed; some are tied left handed.
the grape leaves are made from the pocket of an old button-down shirt.
Watch for berries in the woods in late summer and early fall...but unless you're very confident about your plant identification skills, don't eat them! Many are poisonous, and it's best to leave for them for the animals anyway. Photo by Glenda Denniston.
Strobe info:
One SB-800 on the the left at 45° & 150cm, in a 50 cm softbox.
Flash triggered and power set (1/10)from the camera through CLS.
Composite of nine photos (each manually focused at different points in the grapes). Due to limited depth of field for lenses when working close, each individual shot only has a very narrow area in focus. Used Photoshop CS4 to combine the in focus areas of each image to create this extended Depth of Field photo.
