You know it's summertime when I start posting grape shots .... my first of the season. ;) It's early yet, so the grapes are very small. I think I'll choose an easy-to-find spot in one of the vineyards to show the grapes' growth and color change from early summer to harvest. This was taken this evening in Calloway Winery's vineyards.

My neighbour's vine is hanging over my fence, which I do't mind at all, as the grapes are delicious :-)

I say the same thing about the grapes on the grapevines every year. I am always anxious for them to ripen. It seems like it takes them forever. I think they're usually ready by August or September. I really hate that because between now and then a lot of them will fall off.

Bunches of grapes on vine.

you can tell it;s summer - the grape vine is doing its thing - the birds had not quite found our grape vine yet - a few of the bunches are ripe - early morning photos with the new camera

a week after this photo was taken the birds had discovered the grapes and half of the harvest was eaten in two days - I dont begudge them the grapes - not much standing water at this time of year for them to drink
