I have no idea what this contraption is used for other than the fact that it is attached to the side of a grain elevator and I would have to assume that grain maybe goes in it. ???

Either way, it looked cool, I shot it.

Round Brick Grain Bin in Rural Iowa

Not sure how this old barn was used but the sign say’s it is or was the grain barn, the platform is a recent add on for sure but have no clue as to why. What is known is that one must duck to enter the basement door or see stars for time, use the ladder if entering or exiting the second floor and watch that first step if exiting the third floor. The other known is that no matter which door is to be used one should not have a couple of drinks prior to use, personally it most likely would not matter as a trip to the local med provider would be inevitable.

I made a run up to the SW Michigan area and found this vintage grain elevator alongside the NS mainline in Milan.

Great day for E-P1 shooters. 1. New 1.1 firmware for both the body and lens: much faster AF. 2. Lightroom 2.5 which has a RAW support for E-P1.

A grain train climbs the 2.4% grade at Warren, CA. The broad S-curve is one of my favorite locations on Tehachapi Pass. On clear days from this spot you can see trains off the ex Santa Fe approaching from 20 miles away!
