Saber Lily shows that even in armor, she can still execute a dance move with poise and grace. Even a disciplined warrior cannot resist springtime’s burst of energy, and must break into a joyful twirl. Not all footwork is done in the service of the sword.
Mount Lemmon. Arizona. 4/28/2016.
Just got back from a week in SE Arizona where I went to focus on western warblers. My good friend David Cree went along with me. He's been there multiple times, and his experience with western species was helpful. Between his experience, and my ear we were able to locate almost all of our target species for photography.

Still mostly rain on my Western North Carolina vacation-- at lease providing me with new photo opportunities. I've never captured drops like these before this trip.
Tried colorizing this golden, thanks to Solar Scot.'s idea in his comment. See the effect in the comment below-- I welcome feedback. The photo above captures the mood of the rain. I titled it Grace because somehow it just fit. Also, over the last two years, North Carolina had such a terrible drought that many wells ran dry. Some towns had no water at all. This year, there has been unusual rain. It's hard on tourism, but great for the water table-- and so there is grace in the rain.

This Barbie Grace/Liv hybrid, airbrushed purple and given a faux fur beehive, is wearing a dress I made with an experiment I've wanted to try for a while (using a buttonholer with different cams to simulate embroidery), and she's now on her way to a--surprise!--new home.
The fog at Thunder Ridge lends a touch of grace to a sometimes volatile area along the Appalachian Trail…

"Grace reigns through righteousness"... Grace is never exercised at the expense of righteousness. Grace upholds rather than ignores our responsibilities toward God and toward our neighbor (see Titus 2:12). - A W Pink
I had seen this group perform many times on the Royal Mile during this year's Edinburgh Fringe, but hadn't seen the actual show. This was partly due to the timing of the show, which was in the early evening (and I was tending to be taking street photographs while there was available daylight). However, the day before their last show, having just been to see (and photograph) 'Puppet City: A Korean Fantasy' for the second time, I was invited along the following day by Angella Kwon (the producer of both shows).
This is a show by Kataklo (an Italian athletic dance theatre group, composed of former Olympic gymnasts), and was a beautifully choreographed and stunning show.
Here, these performers were on a platform which was about 25-30 feet above the stage. They went through a series of almost balletic moves, with (seemingly) effortless grace.
Technically, as I have noted before, there was almost NO light to work with here. This was taken at 3200 ISO, 1/20 second (hand held), relying on autofocus and image stabilisation. I have not removed the background in any way, it was completely black like this. As I was taking this series of shots, I really didn't expect any shots of this which were both sharp and in focus, but a remarkable number turned out really well. My new Canon EOS-5D is just superb for low light stage photography. :-)

Odessa Lake Trail, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. In this June photo, the flow of this waterfall is low compared to earlier in the year when it becomes many parallel falls due to heavy snow melt. On a side trail from Helene Lake. Scanned from a Kodachrome slide.

The grace of a natural moment, framed by the delicate beauty of flowers and the wild, free spirit of the subject.

The Eagles continue to return in numbers! It's so nice to see more and more come back!
I do enjoy Eagles taking off and still having the landing gear down.
We managed to see lots of Eagles being opportunistic hunters and as soon as one has food many follow...
When I see one take off I am in awe of their grace, power and strength.
-7 degrees this morning and the wind was a beast but couldn't have spent it with better company...
